I am thinking of going through Prime driver training. I like the idea of the one on one training. I am concerned with learning to shift and hope the one on one training will be of help. I already have my MO CDL permit and my medical card. Any input about the training would be helpful, thanks

Plenty of prime info on here. Go to motor carrier questions and click on Prime on the DAC reports. There are some threads with training info.

It sounds good you choose Prime Driver Training.Make sure your course meets all the government requirement and the data that is gleaned from the course should be beneficial to you, and also Take a course from a training organization that is registered.

I'm a current prime student driver. On the road with my instructor. I'm doing my 75 hours behind the wheel so I can comeback and test out and get my cdl. I got my permit with prime. If u have any questions let me know more than happy to help.

I am going to Prime school also. I start orientation on the 23. I was wondering what happens if you fail your CDL test do you just go home then? I am very nervous about failing it. I am 23 and have never drove a big truck in my life. Also how long until you get back home? How do they get you back home then?

@Liedl13, from what my understanding of the Prime school was if you fail to pass any part of the orientation, which may include your CDL Permit you are sent home. If you fail to pass your CDL skills test upon returning to the campus you are sent home. It is my understanding if you fail they provide you a bus ticket back home. I too am in the same boat and have the same worries but I heard they are very helpful and patient with the newbies. Hope this helps and Good Luck!

You get three tries at everything - I believe. U2, Is that correct?

They'll buy you a bus ride home if you fail part of the training - unless its for something stupid like a hot urinalysis or lying on your application.

Home time is something that can be taken after you get your CDL before TNT training, or you can arrange something with your trainer and FM during training. It will stretch out the time it will take you to get out on your own though. Once you are a solo-qualified A-seat with a new truck, they try to get you a load through your home as soon as they can so you can get everything you need for living on the road.

For the most part, but it does depend on a lot of folks.

Thank you for the info. So how long are you out at a time when you get your own truck?
