Him running from Chitown to Iowa he better at least be logging under speed limit.
Log what you do, do what you log. Simple way to stay out of trouble trying to figure out if it looks right.

I run a daycab also so i just reset my trip odometer each morning. I usually do 550-600 in 11 hours.
-
I left the yard yesterday at 12 noon.....returned this afternoon at 3 pm...
Ran 1174 miles.
I must do some log book stretching....
-
69 mph is a pretty good average, or did you do 2 pti's and a fuel stop to get up to 72 mph?
-
Sounds about right. I ran about the same going from Mo up to Chicago and back on electronic logs. I could hit 650 on a good day.
-
One PT,no fuel stop....My truck can go 1300 miles or better on full tanks.
I ended up logging it as 2 days... -
How did you fill out the required DVIR (That would be your daily vehicle inspection report) when you only logged one inspection on a two day trip?
Jeez you guy's make it easy on them to find the violations. -
I should of said one DVIR per day,as that is what i logged.....sorry man!
Believe me,my logs are legal when i roll through a chicken house.
Been doing this long enough to know how to not have problems with MR. DOT Officer.Tazz Thanks this. -
I had a guy try and convince me you only had to do one" pre-trip" per trip

Said thats what his trainer taught him. After I showed him in his little green book he should have read he still thought he just had to fill one out everyday

This is correct. You cannot log more miles than what can be driven complying with that states speed limit. So a driver in OK may be able to log 800 miles legally in an 11 hour driving shift but a driver in MI can only log 660 miles in his shift.
Lying about the actual miles driven is a whole other can o' worms....
