I understand very little on radio theory and have a few questions. The first question is what is swing?
I don't understand why it is called swing. The word itself would lead someone like me to believe there is nothing scientific about radio theory because the word swing sounds as if something were unpredictable. Swing is not the output wattage correct?
What is swing?

Here is an old thread from a forum I used to hang out on
We had some good times here in the early days, then it slowly went
the way this place is steadily heading . . . . .

I must be a complete idiot because that was utter gibberish to me. To simplify if I buy a 29ltd will the stock swing be enough that I don't need to change anything? lol
Thanks for the attempt Yup. -
any radio, take it to a GOOD CB shop get a Peak n' Tune, thats all you need, echo and talkback are nice but you dont need them.

What does a Peak and Tune typically run? Not really looking into amps or anything like that. I just want to know the thing will run at the best it is capable of as a single unit all in one box.

If you dont need,dont buy
Cobra's talk great out of the box, good antenna(Wilson 2000 is a fan favorite) and a noise canceling mic like the RK56 and you'll do a good job
of/at talking 3-5 miles.
Purchasing from places like Sparky's who sell radio's "ready to rock"
are hard to beat, the rigs are peaked/tuned/converted/aligned etc
at no extra cost, most all shops do charge "for extra's"

I dont know what mine has for power But its just a Cobra 29LTD Classic, and I can hear in and get out quite far with stock Freightliner Antennas
I use an Astastic Mic
peak n tune only cost $30 at my shop anyway
American Trucker4wheelJoshua Thanks this. -
