Don't like double standards, better stay outta truckin.
Just saying.
I'm done here. The horse is not only dead, it has decomposed to the extent its dry bones have been beaten into powder.
2 beers, on day off, in personal car = fired

That seems to be very much the case, and then some truckers wonder how they are trampled on and beaten down, they just can't figure it out. Injun I do agree with you on the topic of drinking and driving, really I do. Thanks for the input.

Go to post #54 and read the linked posts... all will be explained.

In the time I have been away from the keyboard....after the fact, and through some deeper reading about our subject I went back and reread the whole thread.
While driving the past couple days one thing occurred to me...(about this subject)...and this is more of a question than a statement.....
I have registered pick-up trucks in both CA and NV...they get "classified" as commercial when registering, so I checked with both CA and NV at scale coops today. Pickups are classified "commercial" because the "can be used for commercial moving of goods">>>>so...given this (is this true also in other States?), if the driver of a pickup holds a CDL, and blows a 0.05 (or 0.04), could this be "interpreted" as operating a commercial vehicle?
Another thought came to mind....it was stated, (don't remember who) in this thread that one could "carry alcohol" in their truck (big rig) and claim "personal conveyance" and not be held to the 0.04 standard...however, I came to the conclusion (personal conclusion not backed or uttered by LEO or any lawyer)...the vehicle that the alcohol is being transported in (even though it would be an amount for obvious personal consumption and not resale) is a registered commercial vehicle....the "personal conveyance" rule is a logging rule not a "vehicle use" rule.
Those are my thought out personal views.... -
I'm just wondering if your caught drinkdriving in car why would it then still be ok to drive a truck you do the crime you do the time its pretty clear cut to me , if you think truck drivers have it tough has anyone ever looked into what they do to an airline pilot that tests positive to drugs or alcohol?

Give them a bigger plane to fly?

Actually, it is the FMCSA that "states" it is permissible to carry alcohol in a CMV when it is being used as a personal conveyance. I don't know where you're getting the idea that someone would not be held to any applicable BAC standard while in control of the same CMV.

Now I remember... it was in the first linked post.
