    Hello,

I own a 2007 Volvo with volvo engine . Since last friday i have a problem to start it.After long cranking it's starts and works fine. After I turn the truck off and wait 10 minutes it needs long cranking again . I have changed fuel filter and water separator. I also have had the primer changed along with a check valve. My truck is 3 days in a repair shop already and I was told that the injector caps are bad.I agreed with the mechanic to change them but during the repair of the truck i was told that it is not the injector caps after all.

Any thoughts or solutions for this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've got same problem on my VT 880. I barely drove the truck till the Volvo dealer in Billing,MT. They opened the engine and one injector got the spring broken and another one was bad also. They replaced all injector cups, two injectors and then when the mechanic went on the road test the engine stopped working on the hwy with the mechanic driving. They tow the truck back and open again. The injector holders (two of them) were broken. After they replaced the holders everything went well. No problems since then.

Also check the valve that is on top/front of the engine who is not letting the fuel to go back in tanks when the truck is stopped. Is 30$ valve and u can replace it in 5 minutes.

Actually I having problem with my 2007 Volvo while starting only and also when fuel is less than half tank. Then it take long cranking for start up and after it starts, it runs fine and no power loss nothing. i talked to mechanic and he said; it cant be injector or fuel pump, as if there is problem with those then i ll feel some power loss or knocking after it starts. Also if there is any damaged fuel pipe, then there are chances of knocking while driving. The only thing left is check valve but then again if it is check valve, then it should give problem every time when i try to start up but i having problem sometimes and not all the time. So, i am very confused what it can be. Any suggestions welcome ... Thnx

Check the valve first. If u dont have any issues with loss of power and feel nothing when u drive then I dont think is from the engine. The valve is cheap to buy and takes few minutes to replace it urself. Unless u do not start eliminating the causes u wont find the problem.
    Just a thought.
