My husband as only been with these people since June but he has been stranded in Miami, West Virgina, Georgia, Houston, Loredo, Teledo for a total of 16 days. What do you think about a company that does this? I am seriously trying to understand.![]()

Is he running hard and fast, then sitting for a couple of days? Or is he getting short loads with too much time to get there and waiting to deliver and reload?
-
I don't know that he is running hard and fast, because he has been driving for over 35 years. Most of the drivers for this company take several days(5 to 8 days) to go from cost to cost, my husband gets were he needs to drop at the schedule time. It took him just about 36 hours to from Southern Ca to Miami. I am just trying to understand and see if there is an issue.

Sounds like the company's taking their time to negotiate the loads. That's hard on the drivers. He's sitting while the company's looking for a good rate on the next one. It's a game. Good for the company, not good for your Hubby. Do they offer him hotel rooms or any compensation for waiting?
-
If he's being offered any compensation for his downtime, I'de say things are just slow and they sound like a good quality company.
Otherwise, things could be normal, that could be this company's personality. Right now, 10,000 miles a month is about average for everyone. If a driver gets too far ahead of that he'll probably be slowed down so that the DOT won't look closer into his logs. Uncle Slam can shut down a company fast for non compliance.
And, it's the summer slump- the economy's sluggish and freight gets cheap when it all turns into backhauls.
If you guys are paying the bills, I'de say to be patient and watch the miles. If the miles drop off and stay that way, maybe it won't improve. If it's steady it could just be that company's pace. -

LA to Miami is just under 2800 miles. 36 hours??? That is averaging 75 mph with no sleep. No wonder he sits, they do not expect him or any other non hyped up driver to be there for at least another day and a half. -
Yeah, he's runnin' hard to get there, dispatch knows this. They know he needs to get his log "legal" before he rolls again, plus some rest. A 35 year driver should know this.
