Going down this week to talk about the VA rehab program putting me into a CDL class. I decided it was time to get out of hauling oxygen equipment for a home healthcare company.

There are four places in my area that I can get training. One is company training, another is through the local community college, another through a career school and the other is through a driving school.

Any opinions on which is better? If you are near the Springfield Mo area you may know something about the choices.

    Ozarks Technicial Community College

I am starting OTC I have looked them all over and its only my opinion so ya know what its worth how ever.

Vatterott College I was originaly going to use how ever there rules for staying at the colledge doerms are way out there and cost how ever with the skid pad and training I put them at the top.

C one driving school I went there its like a whos who there a numbers operation 3 weeks of training push you through in large numbers they collect there tuition by having you sighn a contract your hooked for at least a year I watched there trainers kicking back wile students drive the industreal park in springfield yeah good luck not for me.

Prime has a good program how ever lots of hoops to jump through including a DOT physical that dwarfs the millitary and again your under contract to them they owen you if you get past Mass body index and sight B/P duck walks exc but there overly pickey including your work history if you been in combat and laid up for a few years forget it the recruiters wont even shake your hand.

Ozarks Technicial Community College I was enrolled in jan of 2011 and great staff I tore my leg up after the blizard and had to bow out because medical how ever I am enrolled again thease guys dont push companys on you they dont sugar coat it.
But my opinion if you attend and listen you will graduate and be thankfull you picked them My class all graduated but its up to you Me Im OTC all the way.
Either way I wish you the best being we both live in an area that gives us the choise

Wow Vatterott offers truck driving class now? I did computer tech there. Not a bad school in my opinion. However between OTC and Vatterott I would definitely go with OTC. Much better program and training. C1, is pretty much how you described it, (Think the term on the forums is a CDL mill) I mean you may get your license but I'm not really sure how much you will have really learned. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.
