I remember as a wee ankle-biter listening to a song called "Roll On" by Alabama and dreaming of "Big Wheels in the Moonlight". I remember even dreaming of being a trucker one day and hearing those Jakes a rumbling down the mountains with me at the helm. Amazingly (never in a million years thought I actually would at the time) I was given my dreams, at 21 years old, and lived them for over 12 years. SOME of those 12 years were the best times in my life...living in Montana running from Seattle to New York City for many years, all alone in a snowstorm headed down those mountains, I was in a real dream...

UNTIL all turned to #### and trucking went so far down the "wrong road" that I could not take the abuse anymore. At the time I started The Truckers' Report, (about 4 years ago now) the internet was just becoming stronger and SOME trucker sites were popping up here and there...problem was ALL they wanted was money and to recruit truckers due to the "shortages"...I could NOT find a site like the one we have created here, so I started it myself. I wanted the TRUTH to be out there, not just a bunch of so-called news sites which are actually recruiting sites in disguise.

There are STILL no sites, out on the net, like what we all have done here for us truckers. ALL the "wannabees" out there trying to emulate us fail utterly. Why? Because they have NO passion, they could care less about truckers and most have not walked in our trucking shoes...all they want is your money, or to get you in the seat of that JB Hunt truck and reap the great rewards companies give recruiters because they cannot keep truck drivers.

This is the point of the site...WHY would trucking companies spend millions upon millions of dollars paying recruiters big $ to get drivers, propping up recruiting sites with huge amounts of dough, and such INSTEAD of taking care of (and paying good) the truckers they already have?...that is why I started this site, because I saw something seriously wrong with this picture and wanted to change the environment truckers endure daily.

In the current state of trucking, NO amount of $$$ could get me back into that seat and put up with the misery truckers have to deal with these days...so I will keep trying to help those who are still out there (with The Truckers' Report) live a better life.

So far, we have done a fairly good job and HAVE made some differences and saved SOME newbies from making bad mistakes like I made at times. This site is owned by me (WiseOne), and I pay for it ALL out of my own pocket. Why? Am I nuts?.....

Some do, indeed, think I am a nuttier than a squirrel turd, but I say nay-nay, my trucking friends...I have sat in that customer's parking lot for DAYS on end (with no pay) in a state of rage (literally shaking), I have had trucking companies do things to me that non-truckers (civilians) could ever possibly imagine would happen in America today (basically slavery)...I have LIVED the life and I have a passion for trucking that never will be extinguished and I will NEVER relent unless God, a Mack truck, a bullet, a heart-attack, or other such unfortunate event (to me anyway) stops me.

So, who is The Truckers' Report? We are...ALL of us members. OUR voices can make the difference. We are the few, we are the unbelievably humble, we are The Truckers' Report!

I can say Wiseone I appreciate your hard work here and I visited several sites prior to this one (actually still visit) and have yet found a site that is respectfull to everyone and you can still have fun! I am not saying this as a moderator, I am saying this as a visitor! If you let one ruin the pot the visitors will go away!

Right on,this site is awesome,I hate it everytime someone gives up truckin or gets screwed. thanks to all of us we can steer and help others find what some have lost in the WONDERFUL WORLD OF TRUCKIN,whether local or regional or long distance, our pride will not be broken, its still alot better than laboring and alot more fun ,if you do it right. Like you said Wiseone,we all hope we can help the new drivers from making the bigger mistakes that we have learned the good ole hard way, thru experience. One thing I have to share with you all,it takes alot for me to feel quilty about anything, but I will tell you this,"I feel quilty if I slack and don't study this forum and try to help others,no matter what they are going thru and that's a fact folks".

Finally! The mystery begins to unfold. LOL!!! I love this site. It's the only site I am a member of. I don't care what you do for a living I think what we've got here is awsome. I get a kick out of it everyday. However now the question has been posed...... what do you do these days?

    SnoreLord,

I am a Web Developer/Search Engine Operative now. I work at a company that runs a MAJOR automotive website (e-commerce) and do most anything regarding the running of the site (ASP.NET coding, PHP coding, HTML, search engine optimization, etc). I learned all this from the cab of my eighteen wheeler and what spurred me into it was JB Hunt. I was so staggered by that company that I SCOURED the internet looking for information on them and other complaints...there were NONE, only recruiting sites and garbage. So, I said I will make it myself. I soon realized that I didn't have any money and couldn't advertise so NO ONE saw what we were wanting to get out to the other truckers/public. I said, well, I am going to have to learn how to get FREE advertising via search engines in order to get our words out. I did that. Now, I am NOT an expert, but am pretty good at this (mind games really) and that is what I do now with my real job. I make almost NO money on this site so, I must work a full time job AND run this at the same time.

Basically, I turned my life around because I REFUSED to let JB Hunt keep me down and resolved to make SURE everyone knows about them and the trucking industry in general. It is my mission to make trucker's lives better...this led me to me new job today and also gives me MORE time to help you all here. I learn EVERY day.

    :)

This is how I first stumbled upon the Forum. I think I was looking for info on Swift but I'm not sure. The sweetest thing about this site is the search option. Man I tore that thing up. The other is the trucking company pole. If you haven't voted on it yet please do, it really helped me out in making my final decision. Like Ruggrat this is the only site I'm a member. It would be hard to start over as I feel that I have gotten to know people on here. Which is also way it sucked so bad to have it taken away for a while.
I love this site, may not like everybody on it but still it's fun to argue with them. Heck they probably don't like me ether but that's okay.
I tell every driver that I talk to about this site and I'm sure that other's out there do the same so it will take time but it will get huge.

Wiseone, how many members do we have with say over 50 posts? I ask it this way cause there seems to be a lot of people that never post.

EasyRider, I really appreciate that! Yea, IF I didn't learn how to do that, there would be almost no one seeing this site. I spend $0 on advertising, period. I simply cannot afford it, I struggle to pay for it all AND keep the darn peace, LOL. I have, not only, members on my butt at ALL hours of the day, but Admin AND Mods, HAHA.

Well, there ARE many, many over 50, but SOME want to sign up to remove ads, and see links that are normally blocked off to guests. We HAVE to do this or we will DROWN in spam and links and would never recover, LOL. MOST members here ARE active, we just keep the memberlist private now for security reasons.

I want to thank your for creating this forum. It's a great site. I wish I had stumbled onto this site a few months back. Trucking has changed so much since I had my trucking business 25 years ago needless to say. Thanks

I am VERY impressed with this site!! I have never seen a site where such passionate subjects are discussed without getting personal and degrading to name calling and nastiness!!!

It is very professional here - and I love it! You don't have to agree with everyone to post! You don't have to do ANYTHING like anyone else to "fit in", just be respectful in your language and posts and say your piece.

I'm really impressed!! I've been on MANY sites in the last few years and NONE can handle the "touchy" subjects like this site can! No personal crap, no nastiness, it's amazing!! Thank you for all your work!!
