Ive got a 06' 387 with a 238 wheel base, just got an over weight fine in joplin,MO, I pick up the load in CA. was pre-passed in AZ and NM,, according to MO they said that my steers are 11800, DRives 37040, tandums 33680, total 82520, my question is, how can I hve 37040 on the drives and only 11800 on steers with a short wheel base, I've never seen this happen. any thoughts:biggrin_25510:

That would be hard to believe if your 5th wheel was all the way forward, but it could correct if your 5th wheel is all the way back.

You can take 2,000 pounds off the steer axle by sliding from forward to rear.

Where my 5th wheel is at, which is about 2/3s of the way back, my front axle weight does not change. Does not matter if I have 25k or 45k on the drives I have about 10,500 on the steers.

Your cargo is loaded forward instead of centered in the trailer. The front is ok as it is below the 12,000 (12+34+34=80) yet your still over the 80,000 by 1.25 tons (unless your supposed to be an overwieght load).

Same with mine, steering is always light even with the 5th wheel over the front drive axle and 50k on the drives.

Solution for when a dot officer come over and says "your over weight!"

Just look at him and say "you think im fat?" and start crying......might work just saying.....
