1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I ran with my own authority for 15 years and have over 1 1/2 million miles on the road. Im looking for flatbedders and stepdeck O/Os. Paying 80% of gross NO hidden fees. Paid insurance and fuel card included. Family owned and ran. We do not have large deadheads and do not run cheap freight. If you want to make a real living, work areas you prefer and be respected as a hardworking driver give me a call. Average rate TO THE THE TRUCK this quarter is 1.93 per mile. I hire out of most anywhere and have work for most anywhere in the US. For further info check our site at pratttrucking.net

Tell us a little more. I assume this is your authority if insurance is paid. Who pays for license and do you need to show up with base plates? Can we get botail, workmen's comp and health insurance through your company? Who pays tolls? What about prepass? I assume the 1.93 include all multiple drop & pickup, tarp pay and FSC. How many miles are your owner/operators averaging and how many do you have? Do you have company trucks and how many? How long have you been operating this way?

I'm not being critical, just trying to get all the facts. IMHO, that rate is good enough to get your attention. Knowing all the facts would allow it to be properly analyzed.

Hey I appreciate the interest. Yes this is under our authority. You do need a base plate and bobtail. We are 100% O/Os, therefore is no workers comp. O/Os are responsible for tolls and prepass if they choose. However the O/O receives any fuel surcharge, tarp fee, detention, and extra drop 100%. We have all the work you can stand and do not penalize you for doing very well. No Hidden Fees !!

    BigJohn54 Thanks this.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking at purchasing a truck, so I'm not ready to go yet. I was impressed with the numbers for a lease compared to what I am seeing these days. These are the first numbers I have seen that would have me second guessing getting my own authority.

We simply answer fast because we mean what we say. I ran my own authority while driving for a lot of years. It's a real eye opener to have an office behind you with a client base always a load ahead of you vs. sitting in between loads looking by yourself. Plus running under our authority its just one less insurance payment to look at. Also something to keep in mind, as for a truck we do not have a year requirement, it's the upkeep and maintenance I am concerned with. If you have older equipment that has been well maintained and meets safety compliance, I do not have a problem with that.

Also we have shippers all over the country, therefore we hire O/Os from all over and work the areas they are comfortable with, and still make good money. Depending on the distance we do not require O/Os to come to the main office for orientation. We are looking for experienced flatbedders.
