I see what you are talking about now. I'm in the stone age and on dialup, so I often have trouble with downloads.
Schneider, DOT number 264184 is one of the better scores for a mega-company. It isn't close to Wal-Mart. I have never seen a score that low. I'm hard pushed to believe there are many companies of this size with a score that low.
I can't think of any to try, but my guess is if you look at smaller companies that require 2 - 3 years experience, that are hard to get a job with, you will find the low scores.
The two things that make the biggest difference in the FMCSA scores are driver experience and company stance on compliance. It takes both to make it work.
No matter how good the drivers are, if the company doesn't put a kink in their butt when the screw up, human nature will prevail. No matter how hard the company is on compliance, new drivers will make more mistakes and even if they terminate them, they still have the violations for two years.
For the record, there are some new drivers that do extremely well. However that is the exception not the rule.nos2011 Thanks this. -
If your looking for a starter company with good scores check out Gordon Trucking (GTI) DOT # 190991
Not perfect but better than most. Terminals in Wi,In, and Mi in the midwest. Based in Pacific, Wa.nos2011 Thanks this. -
Wal-Mart has strict requirements for hiring and conduct of their drivers.
Their hiring policy forces them to use outside carriers a good bit simply because there are not enough qualified(in their eyes) around some of their DCs. For what it is worth I spent some time talking with a driver who said about the only way to get in was to take a job at any DC they would take you and then try and transfer after a year or closer to home. Hd said it was a lot of effort on him and his family but now he is working the DC (Greenville,Tn) he wantdd in the first place. His first DC was in Texas. He just got a cheap room there and only went home occasionally.nos2011 Thanks this. -
Most of their scores are way better than most. They are better than any company that size I have checked. The only better scores I have seen were Wal-Mart.
Now the BOMBSHELL. What is up with that drug & alcohol score of 50%. I have never seen a score close to that number. Most are less than 10%. Many companies have no hits in that catagory. Is it a misprint or are they hiring from a drug rehab center? -
Go back to the page, click on the description, and you will see that it represents 6 violations out of 4,519 inspections in the last 24 months.
Obviously a very serious violation and and not very common in the industry, hence the 50% percentile ranking. Four of the 6 violations were this year.
I'm absolutely certain none of those drivers are still with the company.
