Back in the day when I was driving charter bus, (NOT for the dog) I once stayed at a hotel, around Pittsburg, that they used for training. That was, shall we say, eye opening?!?! And yet when FFE sent me, I still got on that bus. I started late at night, didn't get a good look at that thing until morning. #### it was beat up. Their shop should get an endorsement deal with "duck tape".

I know I started this thread in hoping I found a different kind of truck driving school. They have lost touch with why they opened the school. To put out quality professional drivers. When the first 10 classes went through the classes were small and the instructor student ratio was great and the grads for the first few months their accident ratio was way low. Now since the classes have gotten bigger and greed has settled in the accident ratio has gotten out of hand, 12 in a month just on Grad fleet. So sad to say it has become a driver mill. Please except my apology for talking this school up. The instructors are still great

BS!!! You did just what this site is supposed to do. Talk and discuss different companies, rules/regs, life on road vs local, etc. You have been nothing if not honest as Hell. I for one gave you a hard time and you always responded with well thought out replies. School may be great. Company may have gotten better. I have to think a lot of what you are seeing is due directly to the economy heading S again. I personally don't think we ever got out of recession/depression. Just propped up by Gov money and false Gov #s. And FFE is either taking advantage of huge # of folks looking for relief or just what is required to survive. Can't answer that. But don't ever apologize for voicing your opinion. That's what they have to do over here. Screw that! I think you do a great job.

Oh, playmaker..how far we have fallen.... The scholl is basically forced to become a driver mill. It would be interesting to see the ratio between ditzs' and future drivers. The company is struggling to get mainstream, it is a brutal business. Look at all the trucks on the highways. The reason you started this thread is still game on, and I know you are smarter than to let your bad experiences drag you down to becoming a nay sayer. I told everyone at the academy that had never driven that the shiny would wear off at about 3 months. I was right. Just answer these guys best we can, from what we know. send Greg an email sometimes...feedback. If you wanna know how brutal it gets, read the stuff on youtube about ffes' academy instructors when they were at England .... That was then. this is now. Us drivers have to make the difference. Soldier on

I would not say it is a driver mill. We need drivers since we turn out or down 150+ loads a day, just out of Dallas, or so I am told. Our class grads are exceptional people, with only 16 graduating out of 38 or so. They weed them out quick. But, as the school is no longer new, and more students being put out there, the accidents will, by sheer numbers alone. So, the higher the grads, etc.
I have been only out on the road for a week, but there are some things they NEED to teach in school. Parallel parking needs cut to one day and 45 needs done in the dark with the doors open, and then closed. Most of these accidents could be avoided with proper training, but on the job gets hectic at times, and when teaming starts, the trainer is out. So, I love the instructors at the academy, though I thought John got the short end of stick when a noob hit the gate. I love my trainer. I thought orientation was boring, and I thought the yard could have been more welcoming, instead of feeling like a number on a wall.
Bottom line is drivers are what they are looking for, and if they want thsame old driver, then why the need for new blood? Also, feeling lile you are part of a team, no matter the size, is doing everything not to let them down, even if it means looking like a noob, and getting out and looking.....GOAL!!!! -

I haven't fallen just stating the fax. When classes 1 through 10 went through we had a ratio of 2 accidents per 2 million miles. Now that the classes have gotten bigger now the ratio has gone to 12 accidents in the last 30 days. Any way me and girl friend ran from Fontana CA, to Memphis , TN in 36 hours. We will have 5600 miles this week.
