I'm not trying to tell you what to do and I'm not going to do your research for you. I can't make your decisions for you because what is important to me, may not be your priority. There is fianacial aid information in the long post I gave you. Also you can do a site search and find dozens of pages on financial aid.

I can tell you at 54 I am an expert at learning from others mistakes. This is the only thing I am an expert at. At 22 I wasn't that good at doing this because I knew somehow I was different and I could do it or it wouldn't happen to me. All I'm offering you is some direct information from others mistakes so you can see if the path you are on leads where you are headed.

    CRON9 Thanks this.

Do yourself a favor and look into the 160hr. course, IMHO your instructor is full of crap, we all could use more training at one point, having said that if you are serious please reread BigJohn54's standard post, people will poke fun at it from time to time but anyone that is serious about this thinks it is great advice and gives one some food for thought. Asfar as the backing goes, it takes time and patience, but never be afraid to take a pull-up and always get out and look. Once you get out of school and get that first job, you will realize it is a whole new ballgame, and some on here were spot on with the advice they tried to give. Good luck and keep us posted

    CRON9 and BigJohn54 Thank this.

Ok, let's say I'm already here, I am ready to move on and do whatever it takes. I am ready for the hard work and always ready for the worst. Does it sound reasonable to get my license with this 40 hour training program and next month begin at MACFATTER TECHNICAL CENTER? I may be eligible for Financial Aid, either way they have a good schedule that works for me which is 5-1030pm Monday thru Thursday for 320 Hours. I can take the training even after obtaining the license correct? I really want to become a professional at this and didn't realize what I took wasn't going to cut it. I won't bother to look for another job since I don't want to end up job hopping, I've only had two jobs since I was 15 and want to keep it that way until I find a job I know I will be in at least for a year. Any suggestions ? Does this sound like a plan?

Key Power used to have a high percentage of job placements after graduation.

Do they not do that anymore ??

Quite a few graduates have been on this site before, and I know some that made

    out OK.

    Maybe things have changed.........

almost all companys want to go get at LEAST 160 hours of training...some 180+.

I'd take your money and find a better school.

Dont worry if you dont get it right away you'll get it down it justy might take you a few days/weeks to get it but you'll get it.

I already paid $1250 for the 40hr program and the Test so there's no way to take that back but, I'm willing to do the 320hr program at MACFATTER so when I'm asked where did I go to school I can show that rather than showing I went to Key Power.... Anyone know if MACFATTER will work?

Cron, I think you're starting to wig out a little bit man. First thing Monday morning I would talk to the student advisor at Key Power. Make your apprehensions known. Find out which companys recruite from them. Make sure you didn't accidentlly end up in a refresher course. If you can't get straight answers to your questions, go elsewhere. Let us know what you find out though.
