I'm starting at Great Lakes Truck Diving school on Monday. The owner is a relative of the owners of Hamrick but left after some disagreements. So far every thing I hear about Great Lakes has been positive. It's located in Columbia Station which is west of Strongsville, Oh by about 10 miles.

I went through United Truck Masters driving school in 1986, drove for 3 1/2 years and left to help raise the family. I'm now single and ready to get back to trucking. I did a lot of research before I made my school choice. lucky for me it's only 20 minute drive from my home.

Ex-Brunswick resident! Never heard of Great Lakes Truck Driving school but it sounds like a pretty good option. Worth the OP looking into if he is in the area.

It's on RT 82. If you not looking for it you'll miss it.

It depends on what program you go into. Best to call the school and speak with a recruiter. I see your from Ohio. I found Great Lakes to be the same as Cuyahoga Community and Hamrick for the one I need. Luckily I was able to get funding through the WIA.

I believe the only way to save money if your paying is to go to school though an employer. I found some disadvantages to going that route. The biggest one being most expect you to got to work for them when your done. It limits your options once you get your CDL.

I went to TDDS four years ago, my girlfriend is getting in there now. You can get student loans and grants to go there instead of paying out of pocket. When I went there it was a great school, hoping it still is.
