Try looking just north of Center in Carthage. There's a lot of oilfield service companies there, with Key Energy being one of the largest.

got laid off from universal forest in Saginaw,Texas.no biggie, except i dont get my 40 hrs vacation their corporate says its not required by state law to pay it so stay away from them, not a good company to go to..laid off according to them reason 1 not enough loads to be delivered.reason 2 they said was because i was looking for another job.was #2driver in our region,ft.worth, burleson, grandview, hillsboro so performance not the issue.

So guys....how about an outfit called Pennergy??? Husband is on the lookout for a reasonably stable company with some type of benefits. Was hauling lumber in the housing industry...we all know what has been going on there! He has a great driving record and lots of experience....just trying to look out for his wife (me) and his grandbabies! Thanks for any info!! Everybody stay safe!:biggrin_25519:

I know for a fact 3 star is hiring. Their yard is in between cresson and weathorford on 171. They have health dental and vision insurance. You get one week of vacation after your first year. 99 percent of the time they have more work than they can handle.

Any names for companies currently hiring the inexperienced that would be greatly appreciated. You could include New Mexico and North Dakota also

They are out of Godley/Cresson area I believe. Used to have nice equipment. Had some cowboys driving a few of their trucks. Racing like Hell, but I think they slowed them down.

How inexperienced? Most companies will need 24 mos verifiable TT experience with tanker/oil field being most desirable. Bigger the company more fudging that goes on IMO. Trimac would be worth a look (my company). Msg if you want and/or if you don't know how google works :p

are most of the oil field companys slip seat? that works if you are local, but for someone looking for a job that gives the driver his/her own truck is turning out to be a lot harder. :biggrin_25511:

Most of the oilfield trucks run 24 hours a day. If you are looking for a truck to live in, this probably isn't for you. You would need to find local housing in most cases.

I would say 75% at least are slip seat. Water haulers for sure. This is the oil patch. When the going is good it is 24/7 until further notice. Trucks are to haul things. Not to impress or pamper drivers. Mostly daycabs. No unions. No whining. Just work hard and watch the money roll in. And save for slow times if you have any sense.
