I have been offer opportunities to attend either the CRST or the Wil-Trans student training program. Unfortunately , after reading many of the threads on CRST, I haven't found anything on Wil-Trans.

Do you have experiences with either company (good, bad, or indifferent) so that I can make an informed decision?

Wil-Trans is contracted to Prime. The way I understand it, you would be going through Prime's training under Wil-Trans. Read up in the Prime threads.

Wil trans in my opinion is almost like a subsidiary of prime. Even though they run under there authority now, wil-trans gets most of their equipment from success leasing(prime). They are to closely affiliated in my opinion. Wil trans tries to push the lease deal as well. There lease is as bad as prime's.

ask the recruiters, if thier trainers sleep while you drive.
Trainers need to be in the jump seat all the while the trainee is driving. The cdl company mills,. need to stop planning company trucks, like they are a team. Case in point the wreck out in Wyoming

    trucker43 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

We'll just send 'em all to WnS so they can jump into a truck with a brand new CDL and 3 days' orientation. Then we won't worry about the trainer going to bed.

wil-trans is as bad as prime. i completed their "train the trainer" program and knew that i didn't have enough time behind the wheel to properly train.. stay away from things that don't add up on the logical board..........

might as well look at prime if you're considering will trans. they haul the same things and run out of the same areas. only difference is Prime has newer equipment and a lot of will trans stuff is hand me down Prime stuff.

Prime's training program is very good. They are one of the few programs that actually take you out on the road to learn with an instructor with you the whole time you are driving. If you are driving, he's right next to you. This gives you an opportunity to get to not only experience the lifestyle involved but to learn through doing as opposed to a cdl mill where you'll be lucky to graduate with more then a couple hours behind the wheel.

there's a bunch of threads on Prime's school in the Prime section, check it out.

Who's the dummy in this equation? You both are. Logic solved.

No one forced you to be a trainer.

Same thing happened to me, they asked me if I wanted to train and I turned them down until such time I knew I was ready.

hey U2.... what's up with the dummy remarks? just gave my input and you sling barbs? maybe that is why peeps don't reply, they don't want to be given grief? lighten up on the rhetoric and help out where you can, it makes this website more informational and also shows the world that the assumption of a stupid truck driver is, at best, a minority.

You say it's logical to stay away from Wil-Trans, and say they are worse than Prime?

Who's the one that undertook the training to be a trainer when you clearly state you were inexperienced and knew better.

    Who's advice is suspect now?

Logic says ignore the guy who did something he knew he shouldn't have done but did it anyway.
