Kinda like when fuel spikes and guys park. People like BW9 do even better thanks to fuel surcharges... :biggrin_2559:

    +1 on the FSC.

The higher fuel prices go, the more money I make.

Regarding tolls: I feel for the guys running for companies that make them pay tolls. Like Prime. It will bite for them.

However, IF I was still running OTR, which I'm not, higher tolls would not affect me. I pay a flat rate for the Prepass and all tolls are included. It's $5/week. I guess it's the little "Collective" that Swift has. I won't fuss about it, though. It costs me a lot less than when I would get stuck in the Northeast when I ran for Prime. Tolls ran me around $400/month. This puny little $20/month won't break my bank.

I run NYC all the time. I got EZPass, so I don't care.

It is funny hearing all the NJ commuters ##### though. (all over local talk stations)

Actually $2 per axle isn't that bad, the proposal for 4-wheeler tolls is $7 more, almost a 50% increase.

And when they get into Manhattan, everything they buy is going to go up too.

The tolls to cross the Long Island sound were increased January Ist, Verranzano from Brooklyn to Staten Island is 70 dollars for 5 axles, the other way is free.

The 3 bridges crossing the Sound further east cost half of that but it is charged both ways. Cars cost 13 and 6.50 respectively.

Crossing the Delaware out of NJ to PA and DE was increased 25% the 1st of July, Delaware Memorial went from 20 to 25, the I 78 crossing at Easton and I-80 at Delaware Water Gap cost 20 now, up from 16.25.

I have read that the tolls for the Philly bridges were also increased.

It doesn't cost to go across the bridges from NY to NJ, ie. crossing the Hudson River headed west.

NY charges a toll to cross the Tappan Zee as well, and then you get to run the Major Deegan south, and that is another joy best left for the wee hours, if possible.

NJ lets you in for free mostly, but charge you to leave, and NY tolls where it is easiest to collect it. The tunnels have changed, I never use any of those, and it sounds like there will be even less access for trucks in the future.

thats bull im in the philadelphia area and surrounded by the bridges, they make so much money in revenue off of the cars alone. theirs no reason to raise the rates on the life line of the country. plus wheres the money going? i havent seen any improvements in the last 15 years that are signifigant.
