Hey Streetshark, according to the people at greer, if you are signed up for flatbed you can go straight to flatbed. We had a couple people in orientation this week that wanted to do flatbed, but werent signed up, so they got sent to dry van. If you do flat first, you go straight to 240 hours with a mentor on a flatbed. if you do van first, you have to do ANOTHER 240 hours with a flat mentor. I dont think their are any physical requirements, as long as you can pass a DOT physical. If you smoke, you can cancel that while with a mentor. The ONLY smoking mentor quit two days ago, according to my DM. But they have a couple non-smoking mentors out there, and there are only 2 of us going with mentors this weekend, so you should be able to get one. Hope this helps!! Im new at this myself, but I'll try to help where i can. good luck!

    StreetShark Thanks this.

I wasn't able to get back in contact with my recruiter. So I'll probably have to go to the Van side. But it sounds like you got hooked up with a mentor pretty fast.

Have you talked to the flatbed DMs in Greer? If they need people on that board, I bet a DM could get the wheels turning for you. The recruiter simply gets you into the company - you're pretty much out of their hands once you're in. So why bother with the recruiter? Call the Greer terminal, ask for the flatbed DM, introduce yourself, and let them know you don't want to be a sorry ### door slammer.

Haven't seen any Prostars yet. Mostly Freightliner Columbias & Cascadias along with a few Volvos. I've seen a couple of L/O or O/O KWs.

Make #### sure you remind your dispatcher/DM about your UTAs frequently, and well in advance of those dates.
