Because a lot of driving in the military is done on base and in military trucks. Just like they won't consider a local job as experienced drivers. I like to see any OTR driver take my 85' truck and trailer through the city and into gas stations and say it's easy. What I have done and others have done it also is log your miles on the road. I drove in the military for 20 years and had to throw out all my base driving no matter how far it was and what I was hauling. That hurt since it was explosives. But I had three years of OTR driving at a part time job, or I should I say it was listed as part time. And then my last command I was OTR with special equipment in lease tractors for another three years. If you find you a company that will take your military experience just be a little leary because it's not the norm.

If that's so, that's who I would go with.

Insurance companies can be picky because all of the applicants. Many of these mega carriers are self insured. Anyone can jump in a truck 10 years later and drive just like yesterday. I think alot of it has to do with the ever changing rules and regulations.

Thanks for your service Sgt! :)

Even if a Company want you and thinks your a good driver.
In the end its the insurance company that says yes or no on hiring you.

It will become obvious to vets"your a grant source.Barlow gives Phil and his research gal heather thrills in digging into info not pertinent to trucking.Ie 1099s even with a 88m background and logs and a canceled insurance on a Volvo provided to them. Also I informed them I didn't need a bus ticket my new pickup payed for from trucking would get me there. Now I ask shouldn't a roadtest show I know my stuff?Judging from other post I'd say your pay was too low anyhow. But my point is we can stop this commie paper dig stuff if we choose to do so drivers.I didn't give my 1099 either.By the way heather probably three times your pay.
