I was shy and nervous my 1st time but nothing like this dude!

I shave for my wife and when I de-robed for that special time during the DoT physical, the doctor laughed. It was sure awkward. I will never forget it.Mud Dog Thanks this.

I am not shy or nervous. I am morally opposed to it.
I will not become a trucker unless I can find a work-around.
I was hoping someone could help me. Is there a state...
or a company... who's physicals do not require this?
Also, do you think it's possible that I could have my
physical done here in Michigan... even if the company
that hires me is in another state?Last edited: Aug 30, 2011

I guess you'll go find somewhere else to work, then. Like everyone has said, it's a required part of the physical.

If you want to be a trucker then you will have to have a D.O.T. physical which includes checking for a hernia. Are you afraid the doctor is going to do something to you while he or she is checking? It's just a small part of the exam.

I got a DOT physical yesterday at a CVS pharmacy minute clinic in Escondido, Ca. ($74). The gal doing it, a N.P., had only done a very few. Was a tad confused, but the hernia check was a question only, not the actual "deed". FYI....They are "one man shows", which I like. Receptionist, lab person, nurse, doctor, all rolled into one.
Phriend Thanks this. -
what else are you morally opposed to. trucking kind of sucks, lots of rules and regs. If you have such strong views you should probably consider other work.
THBatMan8, Jarhed1964, mtnMoma and 2 others Thank this. -
There are not checking to see how SHORT your bat is there checking to see if your "baseball" sack didn't rip a hole ?
