I couldn't give you an average but I will say I run up against my 70 on a regular basis and usually end up taking a reset. I always run hard I guess some folks don't. Alot of our Loads Can deliver early so I knock 'em out as quick as I can and jump back on the board. In my 4 months out here solo I haven't touched a single piece of frieght except to occassionally install a strap or two. Drop and hooks Galore.

What do u mean get back up on the board.....does Conway not have you pre dispatched for next load or do u have to deliver and sit and wait for them to find you your next run

They are not too big on Preplans, atleast they haven't been with me. Now alot of times when I go on the board I am rolling within an hour, so they may have me preplanned but don't let me know. But some times I do sit several hours waiting for a load. They are Forced Dispatched, 48 States and Canada. And required me too obtain Hazmat endorsement and Passport.

Steven, I am having the same dispatch deals as XLS. I can say I am averaging 10000 per month and been out about 10 months.

Preplans are fairly rare, but as I was driving to a delivery this morning, I got two preplans that will take me through to the 6th. Generally, planning a grocery stop at Walmart is difficult because I get new loads so fast. I get around it by dropping the load, driving to wally world and then sending in my empty notice. By the time I come out I usually have a new dispatch.

Little tricks like that come with time.

I did more restarts in the last 30 days than I have in a long time. Example, last spring, I was going to Canada and when I got to the border, I had to lay down for 24 hours because i hadn't had a day off in two weeks. I think when the freight is slower, you end up with more restarts because you may not have enough hours coming back to keep you moving.

But, again, long way to go to tell you that I am doing right around 1000 per month.

I saw a comment by someone about sleeping with your luggage. That is indeed the case but those 7500 miles go fast.

    Have fun. Be safe.

Sometimes Terminal is an Awful word. That was the case this morning when I got a call from my trainer. He is Terminal with the Big C and has less than 6 months. He parked his truck in June. Turns out I was his last student. He is a 40+ year veteran driver and trained many for Con-way over the last 4 years.

Don't lie about anything on your application cuz they check everything. it's a good company. my husband and i teamed but we had a bad accident (no fault of our own) so my wings are clipped for now. they have taken good care of us so far. He is back to work now and getting 2600 to 2800 miles a week so far. hope this helps.

We are in our last week of CDL school and will be going to Joplin for bootcamp on the 19th. From what we have researched, Conway is a very good company to work for and we are very excited. Can anyone tell us more about their orientation? What should we expect? What type of trucks are teams running in 2012? Do they still have the 13 speed splitters or just 10 speeds? Do teams still get the studio sleepers? What is the average wait time to get our own truck when we are done with the finisher?

Welcome, you should be happy with con-way. Orientation if you went to a school other than Crowder, or the recommended school in detroit, will be mostly in bootcamp at Crowder. Its a skill sharpening exercise. If you have a CDL, you will do fine. There will be drug and fitness testing. No big deal.

I don't believe there is any wait for trucks these days.

Team trucks tend to be a KW T2000, not many left, some Cascadias for 13 speeds, T660 or Intl Pro Star for 10 speeds. There is noise about some new Petes and Volvos. Don't know about the Petes, but Volvos are supposed to be automatics.

Studios are hard to find on the 660s, and a regular is not a good team truck. If you have to go 10 speed take the pro star. Pretty nice ride.

Have fun in Neosho at bootcamp. Be safe, see you out there.

Thanks RR for the information. Looking forward to learning all that we can and going out with our finisher and getting some miles under our belts.
