After doing some research, I've decided
I want to work for a company who
places a high emphasis on safety.
So... which companies out there are
known for placing the highest emphasis
on safety?
I'm referring to the general attitude
of the company, it's dispatchers and
safety team.
(Some companies seem to push their
drivers to go 50mph in a snowstorm...
while other companies seem to truly
understand that safety is the #1 priority).

Input the company you want information for in the search box. -
GO to the FMCSA website and search the records of the companies you are considering and make your own decision.
Just realize that very few have great numbers and all companies have one objective which is to make a profit.
Maybe some drivers will come on and brag about their companies attitude toward safety. -
Every company will talk about how safe they are. Hell, most companies include a safety meeting in there orientation.
Most safety problems are around driver mistakes. Most records you'll find problems could have been fixed by the driver before hand. Also some companies might have a worse safety record just because they are bigger, thus more drivers to make mistakes.
Depends what you are looking for as far as safety concerned. -
Munitions companies.....pretty safe.
Ridgerunner665 Thanks this. -
Yep...LOL.
Safest company?
Depends somewhat on who you ask...Maverick has won several safety awards though.Phriend Thanks this. -
Interesting. What groups or associations
give out these safety awards? (If I could
find a few lists of trucking safety awards,
that would be pretty sweet... as long as
the awards weren't biased!) -
Saftey starts with the driver, but look into the companies saftey ratings, bigger companies that hire nebies will often have a worse rating just because of sheer numbers of new drivers that work for them. They all preach saftey, but it is up to you to be safe. It is your bread and butter on the line. The company makes money on moving freight.
