Ok,
I have been in my truck for a little over a month now. My question is, how do you get TV reception. Do you all have an external antenna mounted to your truck? Is it one of the wing types that I have seen in the truck stops and see on Limo's a lot or is it the other one that looks like two small CB antennas set in a V? I have looked at them in all the truck stops and they seem to be about $29 just about everywhere.
I actually had an old rabbit ear antenna that I had years ago. It seems to work ok. I pull the antenna out and then push them back in when I am not using it. I just leave it hooked up to the TV all the time. I am just wondering if the ones I see in the truck stops would get better reception than my rabbit ears?
Let me know what you all use.
I do not have satellite at the house, so that is not one of my options.
Thanks in advance,

Chief, there's a lot of different options for you. One that comes highly rated, is the Winegard Square Shooter:
SquareShooter® HDTV Antenna System
The SquareShooter® is only 16 inches square, but receives and resonates analog and HDTV signals 40-50 miles from the transmitter, depending on the model - SS-1000 or
SS-2000 (amplified).
Its small size and design allows for versatile mounting locations such as walls, roofs, patios, attics and railings. Plus, the
SquareShooter® can be mounted above a satellite dish using Winegards DS-1000 home satellite mounting kit and diplexed with the existing satellite coax cable, incorporating both the satellite and SquareShooter® Off-Air signals on one cable.
Features:
* Designed specifically for metropolitan locations where line-of-site to transmit source is blocked.
* Rejects multi-path with Scatter-Plane technology to tune to the desired reflected signal and block out-of-phase signal.
* Digital pre-amp specifically designed for digital reception.

The Square Shooter should be easy enough to mount on a pole, and not take up a lot of space when you need to stow it.

i've got the 29 buck "rabbit ears" that mount to your mirror. they work OK most of the time. but i would suggest trying to find an end slot because a truck next to them will screw up the reception.

i just realized your from my neck of the woods. i'll be heading to the vets in peachtree city here shortly . -
Not to mention, one big radio can really put a hurtin on your TV.
-
Do you use one of these and if so, how do you like it?
Thanks -
I don't use one, but I know from avsforum and such, that it is a very good unit. It looks like it would be great for a truck since it would be easy to mount to a pole, and just telescope it up.
