Was reading through the Swift driver's handbook (yes, I'm bored...waiting for a mentor) and noticed something about reciepts for showers in your trip-pack.

If I have to pay for a shower will Swift reimburse me?

Don't know the full answer your looking for but I do believe the main head terminal in PX AZ has showers for the drivers and its free.As for free showers I quest while in training you wouldn't earn free showers till you get your own truck. You do know to get the membership cards from all the trucks stops, you get free shower for every 50 gallons of fuel you buy.As your OP,they may pay your showers while in training I guest???:biggrin_2556:

Showers used to be reimbursed, but that stopped in 2009 when the Big Freight Slump hit us. We haven't yet got that perk back. Save the receipts, though, since showers are tax deductible.

Every one of the Swift terminals has free showers. Drop yards don't.

    Steve,

As a driverfor Swift, I can tell you that they will reimburse for showers. Just include it with your BOLs when you scan at TransFlo. Be sure to check your paycheck the following week. If it is not there, you should call payroll (the number is in your handbook) and discuss it with them.

That said, as a trainee, your mentor will be taking all the shower credits and fuel points on his or her card while you're in training. He or she should ask for team showers when you stop for a shower. Be sure that you do sign up for all the fuel rewards cards from truck stops. You'll need one for Pilot/Flying J, one for Loves, and one for Travel Centers of America/Petro. Pilot/Flying J and Loves will give you a plastic card on the spot, bu TA/Petro will give you a paper temporary one and mail you your permanent plastic one in a week or so.

As an aside, I notice you're from Buckeye, AZ? My wife grew up there, spending 20 years in a home on Zuni Rd and attended Estrella Comm College. Small world!

Well, as it just so happens, I had to pay for a shower the other day at a Pilot because the fuel pump didn't give me credit when I fueled at another Pilot the day before. I will scan my shower receipt and post back with what happens.

The handbook gives a definite list of what they will and what they will not reimburse you for. If that list is no longer accurate, the company should stop distributing handbooks with wrong information.

wile you are with your mentor it is his/her's responsibility to make sure you can shower at lest every other day.

you will be asked 3 time by corprite during your training if you are able to shower regularly.

you should never have to pay for a shower

I know, you can usually smell them from the far side of the parking lot!

My personal record is 5 days (I drove for 2 years in the 70s), WAY too long to go without, even in the winter.
