I am new to this industry but I have been around for a while. I have been reading posts here for two days and something just came to mind. It is my OPINION, in any industry, 20% of the people go to work, work hard, put up with the daily bumps in the road, and just get along with people, and work hard......they get 80% of the work done. The other 20% of the work gets done by 80% of the people who complain, cry about life, a bad boss, a bad dispatcher, a bad mechanic, a bad HR person, a bad day! and it is my opinion that 80% (or more) of the negative post here are by those people who just need to shut up and put their nose to the grind stone, thank GOD they have a job (unless they prefer unemployment) and GET ER DONE as Larry the Cable Guy would say. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it.

I think it is more like 20% of the OTR companies are decent places to work... but it could just be me.

Might be a student and might be a Swifty, but there is something to what he says.
OTOH, there are just as many POS companies as there are POS drivers. So there is validity to that point as well. -
Update this thread a year after you get hired Fire. I bet your thoughts change.
You'll be crying your first $100 paycheck.

Unless he understands that it was just how the loads fell into the pay period and the next check will be a good'un. That happened to me a lot.

Actually, the mega carriers only make up about 40% of the trucks out there. The medium to small carriers are usually better places to work too. Big companies sweat the small stuff because of the economy of scale. A company with 10,000 trucks can save a pile of money by turning their trucks down and micromanaging their drivers into a coma. A company with 10 trucks won't even waste their time.
