We run a lot of them over here in Kenworths @ 100,000lbs and they are a good strong engine.

I have heard of a few that had early cam replacements but other than that all good. I believe Mr Haney has a nice program/ turbo combo that will have a c12 running with 550's

We bought a '99 FL a few years ago with a C12 and 625k on it. We put 30k on it and the head gasket blew out. When my mechanic tore into it the situation went downhill fast and we ended up overhauling it. We've put around 200k on it since and it has been an excellant motor. It has good power and gets decent mileage. I think our problems with the motor early on probably was because the original owner didn't take care of it.
