There are few carriers who don't do any advertising. Just because a company advertises doesn't mean that they are not a good company, just as those who do little or no advertising don't advertise are not necessarily good companies. Perhaps those who don't advertise don't have enough business where they can afford to advertise. Whether a company advertises or not has nothing to do with the quality of the company. ALL companies will have turnover. Some have more than others. I don't consider the turnover rate an indication of the quality of the carrier.

You know its a bad sign if:

1.) You see the same ad for the same job over & over again.
2.) You see a permanant sign in front of the terminal that reads "Now Hiring CDL Drivers".
3.) You see an ad for a hiring event or a driver open house in your local paper and only
a couple of people show up.
This usually means they are short a lot of drivers and looking to recruit en mass
( you hafta ask yourself why everyone left in the first place ).

If you see any of the above as a consistent trend the word to the wise is STAY AWAY!

Just because a "Good Company" advertises, it doesn't mean that they aren't a good company. Maybe their business is growing.:biggrin_25520:

And just because someone gets into trucking, it doesn't make them a trucker. Many come to this industry as a last resort. Some of us do this because it's what we love and have always wanted to do.

I'm a biker , as well as a trucker. Heard this reply , back in the early '90's around a campfire, in N.C. We were talking about drug tests. The guy who said it , was making a living off drug testing. Riding a Gold Wing. Offered to give me the keys to his "bike". Told him , if he did , I'd ride it right into the lake. He shut up.
In human history, there are always some , who will do whatever. Christ was crucified by those. Nazi Germany, Stalin's Russia , Mao's "Revolution", Pol Pot's killing fields. Many, many more. "Those who choose security, over freedom, will soon discover they have neither". Ben Franklin, I think.
I won't be back. Stumbled upon this , while looking for something else.
    Bye.

One person's GOOD company is someone else's BAD company. No two are alike for different people.
