Here is a pic that my grandmother recently gave me of my grandfathers first truck. My guess is that this is back in the 40's or 50's?
I was wondering if anybody could help me identify the truck as I would like to see if I can find one and restore it.
I know that later on in the 70's my grandfather had Internationals so perhaps this is also an International?
thanks for the help

Tm, if you can get it a scan of the pic would be much more beneficial.
-
I wont be able to scan for another week or so. Any guesses?

Ask BlackW900. He might be able to identify it.

Could it be an REO Diamond T ? It looks like in the picture, it is being used to haul coal. Can't make out the name of the coal company but that could be helpful in research.
Lots of images in the Googlesphere that look similar to the one in the pic you posted. But I just put in 1940's Coal Trucks, and this REO Diamond T popped up.
Don't know if that helps or not, but thought I'd toss it in there!

Shoot! He probably drove one just like it when it was new!

It is hauling coal. The name of the coal company is Bernard Spence Coal Company, which is my grandfathers name. Thanks for the information, at least now I have a place to start.
-
Try looking at this site, it could even be in there.
