I also drive for STEVENS.I have used and taught both methods of braking down major grades.The best is the constant pressure.Never so much as a hot brake.Where as the snub method tends to heat the brakes due to the element of air to the linings being added.I.E. oxygen to heat creates mor e heat.Simple physics.But to each his own.Both methods work.Whatever floats your boat.
