    Playmaker,

    My recruiter is Tony Brophy. The gentlemen who interviewed me from FFE Engineering Services is Jeff Braden. I interviewed here in Midland, TX (aka oilfield central). I was told once I finish school, it's back home 2 midland for 2 weeks of training, then I will be working 12 hour days 4 on/2off and they would help me get my tanker endorsement.

    FFE Engineering Services???? I will be blown away if this has anything to do with FFE. Hence the name FROZEN FOOD EXPRESS, nothing to do with oil field. And if you go to the academy you will go out with trainer for 6 weeks minimum for no experience. My DM has never heard of this. Might want to ask more questions and dig alittle deeper. Please keep me informed on this.

    does FFE still have the no inverter policy and what medical insurance do they provide now?

    Wolf you can run up to a 300w inverter. I ran only a 150w in my Century because my fridge was 12v and plug right in the truck. I only ran my TV off of it. My TV is a flat screen DVD combo. And in my CASCADIA i run it for my TV thats it.

    As for insurance it's blue cross blue shield. It's high for a family I pay 125 a week for me and 2 kids. As for a single person it's about 45 dollars for everything (i e medical, dental, vision) and that's paid per week.

    Awesome, 1 other thing man, is the entire company now on E-Logs? I have never even see the ###### things. I am almost wishing I will need a week or 2 with a trainer just so I can get refreshed on everything.

    Ya we are all E-logs it's not bad at all. The system is called PEOPLENET, it has A GPS system on it as well.

    Ok today we went out to practice our turns. Sounds easy right? maybe in a 4 wheeler, not so easy for 75 feet of truck. We went to 2 industrial areas around fort worth, one was called "turn city" where we practiced low speed left and right turns for the better part of the morning.

    In the afternoon we went to a different industrial park where the speeds were a bit higher and instead of just 4 wheelers and other training trucks, we had to deal with all the professional truckers who had schedules to keep and didn't need some FNG clogging up all the lanes. So we had to adapt, and open up the throttle a bit.

    Practiced "double-down" shifts from 10 to 8 and 7 to 5 gears. learned to keep those trailer duals in our lanes and always check our mirrors.

    As an added bonus, my instructor let me drive us home from the range I had my 1st taste of freeway speeds, and lots of rush hour bumper to bumper traffic.

    Then i had the privelage to 45 degree alley park our truck back at the range. Did I mention that 9 days ago i was scared to let the clutch out in 1st gear? You will leave here a changed person. 1 more week to go...
