He decided to stay at a truck stop so he could do laundry and get a shower. Then I guess he will be there this am and then on his way for a pick up somewhere in Pa and on his way to Ga. Stay Safe

Im sorry but i have to say this there is good and bad in all jobs if your hubby does not like it here go some were else and drive 4 33 cents a mile and pay 200 dollors a week for insur. and from what i have seen jbs does not hire seat warmers and boneheads . How many have you meet . miles are down get a job and help him out. and while im on a roll let me say a cell works good when calling cust. for dirc.

So unless anything changes im almost 100% sure im goin with jbs and i got a few questions.
    1. I understand at least from reading this blog that miles may be down but for a newbie driver what can i expect for average miles? Im asking this question because im trying to figure out how much i can bring home on the check. I know its hard to say because it all depends on the driver but if any recent newbies could let me know what to expect as far as income goes it would be nice so i can prepare for the good/bad.

2.The recruiter i talked to a few weeks ago said the family insurance plan was 162 per month. My question is how does that work, are there deductibles if so how much?

    3. I know theres a few trainers here and thought i would ask if theres anything your trainees dont bring with them that you wish they would of. Should i go ahead and buy all my maps, gps ect.... before orientation or is it better to pick that stuff up with your trainer?

    4. Also if anyone has any advice for a newbie getting into the trucking industry with jbs please give it to me as i am all EARS!!!! Im trying to make the most of everything and get as much info as i can. Sorry if these questions have been asked already somewhere in the thread as there is a chance ive missed it. THX in advance.

Florida Girl You are the one that said they were hiring to many drivers. And that was causing your husband to lose miles.Don't make it sound like they are hiring seat warmers and bone heads. There were 9 perspective drivers in my class and only two made it, I was one of them. I have 25 years experience and 2,000,000 mile safety award to prove it.So please don't bash people for getting a job. We are all out here to make money. So lets be team players. Just voicing my opinion, don't take this personal.

LOOK AGAIN, She is not the one that said that, BUT I WILL, dosent matter how good the drivers they hire are buddy if they dont have loads to keep them moving an lately THEY DONT, MY MILES DROPPED FROM 3500 TO 1800, i sat at hunts point a day an a half...i have nothing against them growing or drivers getting jobs here, but they need more loads, and considering we are owned by biggest meat company around i realy dont get it,,, you have not been here that long when you not making enuff to pay bills you may not feel the same way:biggrin_25513:
