Can anyone tell me if WS has team drivers? My wife and I will be getting our CDL soon and are trying to find the right company to team drive with. What is the cpm for teams (if they have them)? How many miles per week? We live in WV, close to several interstates. Do they hire from our area? Thanks for your responses!

Yes we have Regular 2 man teams as well as 3 man teams.
You'll have to ask a recruiter about the cpm
They run good miles and easy loads, lots of drop n hook
solos run 2200-4000 a week so figure 6-8k a week i donno
You'll also have to ask about WV they like you to live within 120 miles of a termainal.

Since u and the wife are new to the industry dont expect to much.If u get 4500 miles a week it will feel like a big week. Until u have some miles under u just riding all the time and trying to sleep with the trk moving will be a challenge. But good luck on ur new career.Just dont look at it through rose colored glasses.

W/S does great for van teams, from what I've heard. You will start off most likely running more like a super-solo as you settle in (which works well for husband/wife teams anyway). Be open to anything, even the short hops, but as a van driver, ask if you can drop stuff at a terminal and get your next load going so you don't sit.
Pay rate for all new drivers is .25/mile during probation, even team drivers. That's .25/mile split between the truck, but for all miles. So it comes out to .12 1/2 per mile. That can feel a little tight, but it's doable (I did it). You'll get a raise at 90 days.
W/S is a great company, starter or otherwise, but keep in mind you'll get no trainer. If you're very comfortable doing this, great. If not, you may still make it work, but be sure to NETWORK. Networking has saved my backside more than once, and W/S drivers are, as a whole, a helpful bunch.
If you do take the plunge, let us know.

Me and my wife have been teaming with W/S for four months. Its been hit and miss at best. Best week was 6300 miles and worst weak was prolly 3k when we havent broken down. We only started getting miles after we complained. After that miles were great but miles are only good if your truck doesnt break down. Breaking down has been the biggest problem,
3 ac compressors, clutch, turbo, tranny coolant line are the ones I can recall.
After hours support is not good, hard to get ahold of anyone. And as you all know its hard to get into another truck, we've been trying. I had worked for W/S as a solo for about a year and a half but was in a penske truck for most of that time so didnt have the mechanical issues we do now. In my opinion it could be a great company if it wasnt for the equipment. We get treated well, never pushed beyond what we can do. We also feel since our truck has been having issues, we get labeled as problem children from comments made by shop and dispatch. Like I said its been hit or miss, not sure if w/s is good for a team. Me and my wife are prolly move on here soon.davey86 Thanks this.
