Why do you think the likes of H&R are importing truck drivers from half ways around the world?
-
they say its due to the lack of drivers thats way im on here tryn tha find out more information

There's NOT a lack of drivers/ driver shortage. Never has been, never will be!
What there is a shortage of is good employers (H & R is NOT one) who treat and pay their drivers appropriately. H & R is just another bottom feeding truckload refrigerated carrier who has worn out their welcome with the Canadian driving populus so they have to import unsuspecting mutts (no personal disrespect) to fill their trucks!
What other industry has to go half way around the world to import unskilled labor? Think about it....WHY do you think this is happening?ricktrucker Thanks this. -
Maybe you could find the Canadian truckers section of this forum, and ask there about jobs?
It is possible for a UK trucker to move there, there was a guy called Buckaneer on this forum about a year ago who was from England and moved to Canada.
So don't give up, just avoid that particular company and get as much good info as you can : )ricktrucker Thanks this. -

I've known several that do this. Hogan was importing Jamaicans, Transco lines was importing Austrailans some years back. Another company was using New Zealanders. The team from New Zealand commited to 9 months with the company then went home for 3.
