Well the moral of the story seems dont tell em a thing til u do your thing. I have given twice 2 weeks notice and didnt have a problem, but withthe bottom feeders, here your keys to the tractor and its cleaned out,

 

I tried to get a job with USE back in 1999 and thought they were bad. Lately, it sounds like they've sunk even lower. These outfits, such as USE, will claim out front they have a shortage of drivers, while out back they're abusing those they do have. Sounds like idiocy, but the insiders who run these outfits are no idiots. Something else is going on here.

 

A-men, brother. I second that.

 

Covenant Transport is the same way, oops they are related. Just check your DAC report they will mess with you if they think they can. But if they do, get in touch with me and I'll tell where to go from there.

I got fired by them after 6 years the last year in which I drove local. They cited a pattern of confrontation with management as the reason ( translation, stuck up for myself) I chewed out some security guard at their Kent wa yard for making me late on a Costco load because he was out back sleeping in his car instead of watching the gate and doing his yard checks. My mistake, should of just went home and told them no one there to open the gate

I had no problem with them the first 4+ years, until they tried to draft me for drayage work when I was supposed to be doing 11 western. Then there was the issue with them trying to use you to pu and deliver team loads with a couple hundred miles left on them so they could keep them running while I sat. Or the endless re-power requests so they could go sightsee somewhere or not run a multi stop load.

In short if you are a Solo driver do not go to work for USX, you will regret it. Unless you are a newbie and don't know any better then it might be a learning experience if nothing else.

 

Well at least everyone feels my pain...see my post titled (us xpress can die!!!) Anyway guys I think I found a swell company its called Sharkey Transport they are out of Quincy,IL. I really like what they have to offer here are just a few things that really made me join'em they gurantee you $1000 bucks a week if you are willing to work 51/2 days a week. You are also home every week. I start my first day of orientation tommorrow.

 

Good Luck with the new job 55, I hope you are right. All of these companies seem to be the same however. I'd like to believe that I could find a company that I could trust but just not sure where to go. Maybe Hogan will do what they say who knows......

 

Thank you for the heads up. I'm a new CDL and this is my first gig. Really nice recruiter but when she told me I'd have to pay $2500 for training if I left them before a year, I pretty much nixed them. I've heard lots of stories about them screwing up drivers DAC report too.
