It isn't a Flying J any more.
The original owners bought it back. It is called Morton's now. I had heard this place was a toilet and so never stopped until tonight.
While the parking area is dark and needs painting, the inside is immaculate. The women's room looks all brand new. I can imagine the men's would as well.
The shelves are well stocked, well lit and orderly. Three fast food choices inside include Subway, Don Tortaco and Wings. I had a chimichanga at Don Tortaco. Yummmmmmy. It's the 24-hour place. I don't know whether the other two are or not.
Overall, staff was polite and helpful. All major fleet fuel cards are accepted.
I do recommend it and, if I ever make it to Vegas again, I will be back.
I like supporting the independents.

Black w900 will be happy to hear they got a subway.
Injun Thanks this. -
Not too often a chain goes independent. Its usually the other way around.
-
I'm glad to hear that. That was one of the worst J's I've ever been in. Once the Petro opened up, I never went back to that J.
-
oh come on Injun you could go into the mens room. im sure no one would mind "sharing" a stall with you.

If my memory serves me, it was a "J" franchise.
-
It's not a J at all any more. The signs still have the J look to them, but nothing has that logo any more.
Looking at it in daylight, the parking lot is almost completely free of trash. They're really trying to turn this around. -
Well, if it was I'm a bit surprised. They had the typical J diner with a buffet or table service for a lot of years. Then they dropped the buffet. Most of the franchise J's that I saw had your fast food restaurant only. And that place had been there for a long time.
I'm not arguing with you, it may have been a franchise. I'm just surprised to hear that. -
I don't know about the mens room either. My husband can tell me later maybe. I am parked here for the night right next to Injun. Can't miss the pretty truck.

This place is better than the Petro in Las Vegas. That place is a dump and would not walk in the lot at night by myself.
The Loves further north is surpisingly nice, clean and friendly people. I guess Loves is cleaning up their act. Although some are still crunchy around the edges.
Good coffee too!
P.S. we where in Troutdale a few weeks ago.Injun Thanks this.
