What did you answer when they asked if you operate outside of the state of FL. If you answered yes, they should have asked to see it. If you answered no, then they wouldn't have. I know when I went to get a duplicate license in Palm Beach Gardens two weeks ago they asked me, as well as every time I've renewed or got an endorsement in Orlando.

This is why hubby is making good bank.

Prime is an excellent place for company drivers. They keep those guys rolling. If you want to go lease eventually, do what IronPony did: go company for a while. Long enough to find out who the good FMs are and who to avoid. Then get on one of the good fleets.

My results weren't so stellar at Prime. But I refuse to train.

I'm doing very well over here at *gasp* Swift. Different business models.

Well, checked my HAZMAT Application Status online and it was approved on 9/16, keep in mind I went to DMV on 9/12 so just a few days. Guess it should be coming in the mail within a week or two.

Some of us dust-farters have been through that nonsense so many times the records checker recognizes our fingerprints by sight. Military security clearances, CCWs, private security licensing, hazmat, TWIC, public service....

I think they see my print card and say, "Oh. Her again." *stamp* "She's good."

Don't worry about it my trainer years ago said it takes 2 years to be competent at backing, it will only come with experience on the job because every backing situation is different. My advice, learn from watching other drivers in truckstops when you land a job. This may sound stupid but when I started I bought a toy tractor trailer and played with it to learn when to make the turns and cuts and so on, now I can put one in a key hole if necessay.

Even super truckers can't do that all the time, as said be patient, he's right to let you figure it out yourself because when you are on your own he won't be there to help you so the better you figure things out now the better you will be when it counts. One more thing, lighten up a bit and relax, it will come much easier to you if you do, good luck and WATCH OUT lol.

Don't care how much you can do it at school, it will be different in real life. The school is to get you to understand the basic technic. The only way to master anything is TIME. No way can you do this in the time at school. Get your license and get on the road to learn. Drive safe!!

Thanks for your responses guys, I did get the jist of it after about 3 days, that's when I was able to break the habit of steering the wrong way, but I became better with more practice, ended up doing a little freestyle alley docking just to see how it would be in different situations, but definitely experience on the job seems like where the best training will be. I went on the road during training, but every time it was in Dead Center Miami in 5 o'clock traffic, but for some reason I gotta say I loved going through the struggle of the gears and going up a ramp in stop and go traffic (scary the first time I got caught up in that). This was in a Freightliner with half the stuff not working right and no A/C in 90+ Degree weather....still gotta it say it was peaceful, kinda the same feeling I get when washing or working on a car, just get to free your mind of problems....Somehow I didn't hit any curbs or cause any mayhem :).....I'll be starting at McFatter Technical next month in their 320hr program and financial aid is covering it so that should help.
