Yes. Ordered it when I was on home time, but went back out before it came in. My wife told me it arrived about 3 days after I left, so I'm still battling the lack of computer usage time until I get home to pick it up.

Just catching up myself as it seems like I have had less time to play on TTR lately. Sounds like things are going well for you. I remember the Ex driving thru the NE alot and you got it about planning your nightly stops as the T/S are far and few between and driving through NY and NJ you got your FEET WET fast!!! So glad you got to see the family though! Nice perk for you. I hope you get your computer issue figured out and can post more often cuz it's nice to know how you are doing and keep up to date! (don't go the way of ORG.........)
STAY safe and keep us posted when you can!!!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Hope all is well in the world of Wedge!
Looking forward to your next update

I got a 300 watt power driver inverter since we can't have a hard wired one and have had no problems with my laptop. Then again mine is an older one, maybe that's the difference.
Wedge Thanks this. -
Wedge is going to have some catching up to do when he finally gets back on line!

Hello Everyone.
The last time I was on I responded to a post about my new 12V adapter for my laptop. Then, I wrote an update that was considerable as I haven't been on much lately. And while I was in the middle of proofing it, my computer decided it was time to shut down so it could give me all sorts of wonderful updates.
Well, needless to say, the post became electron vapor, and I was too tired to re-write it. Sorry about that. To quote AT..."Stupid computers."
Tonight I'm in Kannapolis, NC (I think that's how it's spelled). Just finished delivering a paper load that I picked up in Philadelphia, PA.
I seem to stay mostly in the mid-west or east. I don't think I'll be seeing too much of the west. USX seems to keep drivers within a 2 day drive of their home 20.
I've been out 4 weeks this time..........I love my job. It's fun, but I pay for it by sacrificing my home life. Of course, I knew that going in, so I'm not going to whine about it. To me, each trip is an adventure and a challenge.
I don't like driving through downtown Philly or Boston(needed to say that for some reason). Can't move the tandems far enough forward for me, that's for sure. That's my only gripe, I guess.
This will be my last full week out then I'll be headed home. My on-board supplies are running low, but mostly, I need to switch over to clothing for cooler weather. The next time I go home will be around Thanksgiving, and the weather will certainly be cooler.
Well, the battery indicator is running low, so I'll have to jump off now.
More to come for sure, Sammycat. And AT, thought you were in the same TS as me, but it was a different W/S road rarrior.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Wedge, glad you are enjoying it. How many days off at home are you going to have? What is the longest distance you have driven so far in one day?
-
Hi Wedge!
Glad you got a chance to catch us up and don't worry-you are not the only other person who has internet problems out there. I love my laptop but also have a smart (ha- baby droid) phone but when it comes to posting on here I almost use the laptop exlusively-too much of a PITA using the phone in my opionion. If it was all I had I could see (Dave did that for a while and got used to it)
I thought USX was mostly an east coast company? If you could get a dedicated route would you take it? If you are staying mostly east of the Mississippi you better get some warm undies for sure LOL! It's warm up here in western NY but by Saturday the HIGH is suppose to be 55 UGH! I actually had to turn the furnance on a week or so ago to cut the chill and also figured get some of the dust out while I could still open the house.
Just remember Wedge- that coffee will be waiting for ya!!!!!
So glad to hear you are liking what you are doing and it's pretty much what you expected!!!!!! -
Glad to hear you are still loving it! Actually after two days home you will probably find yourself missing it! I used to anxiety if I was out of the truck for a more than a few days. Kinda weird. Still jealous of you. Im sitting here at home while you are out there driving around in the world.
Its great to hear that you are doing well and most important love what you are doing. You have come a long way and have fully earned the right to be happy! I think you had a little more of a challenge then most drivers but you pulled through and kept chuggin at it!
Yeah the east coast is a bit more challenging as a driver. Roads are smaller, and tighter. Truck stops are few and far between and more crowded. Traffic is heavy. Makes it nice when you get to the heartland huh?!
Anyway good to hear from you. Make sure to DRIVE SAFE!!! Also remind yourself to every day. Very important! Sometimes you get caught up in the daily grind and safety is performed subliminally. Make sure to bring the safety thoughts to the front of your brain so that you are fully aware. Hope my rambling makes sense......
Take it easy man!

I've been reading your posts that began a year ago...you were right where I am today. I'm 61....spent my life in radio and advertising...but the economy changed all that. I just signed up with sage here at Mohawk valley comment college. Class begins Oct 10... So I've been reading the thread with great interest. Even tho it was a year ago, it reads like a real time novel. Just want to say hello to you and the other cast of characters....like American Trucker and Sammycat.
