I am a rookie driver that just got my cdl-a with tanker endorsement. Schneider bulk tanker division called and said they will train me and pay me 33 cpm to start. Go out with trainer for 2 to 4 weeks. Then up to 40 cpm after 4 months. Is this a good company to work for?
So far everything they tell me sounds good and they seem very professional. The yard is Woodhaven Mi. Run lower 48 east of Rockies. and will pay for me to get hazmat. any advice?![]()

All safety-related. I'm a van driver for SNI...you could do worse. Check your priorities, then make an informed decision. Good luck and be safe!GSWx Thanks this.

I didn't think they yanked tanks anymore but saw one being drug down the street today.... the tank said Du-Pont.

I actually saw one in Dade City, FL a couple of days ago. That's the first Schneider tanker I've seen in this area.

Because you'll be hauling chemicals. The facial hair is because you'll need to wear a full-face respirator mask that seals tight on your face. Some chemicals have fumes that will kill you in seconds. All chemicals have fumes.
No contacts is in case you get sprayed in the face. You need to get water immediately for at least 15 minutes. Contacts will hold the chemical on your eyes too long and do irreversable damage. You could wind up blind.
Long sleeves/pants are to keep you from getting burned by chem contact
Chemicals are no joke people. The rules are because people were hurt or killed before you.GyrrwrLori, Joescheppae Q, jmacdaddy and 2 others Thank this.
