So you have a pair of asbestos underwear, too! I've had mine on since she ate the first piece of wedding cake. Oh yeah, we have been married 30 years.

Lot's of things to comment on.
First of all, made that repower delivery. Took shortcut thru the Catskills. Never even THOUGHT of the Irene floods. Well, we were diverted due to washed out roads, and ended up taking the 'scenic' route.
Winding thru the mountains with a 53' trailer is like Gulliver in Lillipution Land!
But we made it. Made delivery on time.
Let me say here that a well written email and cc'd to the right names can bring faster results than any phone calls or QC messages.
After gandy dancing around the tracks all morning, I sent the email to the person in Meat that had failed to follow thru on his commitments.
I had my repower and new load within minutes.
I also had a phone call from him immediately...this all after having left phone messages, qc messages and carrier pigeon messages all morning...to no avail.
I'm not sure it was my writing skills as much as who I copied on the message.
So we are now in Ohio, headed west, for a thursday delivery.
Received an annonymous email (don't recognize the addy and it isn't from the STVV server) that simply said, "Thanks. <name of meat dept person> has been a pain to us for a long time. Maybe now he'll mend his ways."
As for D&D? Official name is Trainee to Trainee.
Now that it's back, I think I'll spend all afternoon thursday with my trainee, practicing backing at the J in Ogden.
He won't be the lead trainee (I hope!) but he'll sure as heck be able to back it in the hole!
So, in the meantime, I'll follow the alternate name for Antonín Dvořák's New World Symphany #9, commonly known as Largo.
(sorry folks... remnant of my training as a classical cellist and violinist)

DenaliDad, SpyderRyder and GSWx Thank this.

Uh, yeah. It was your writing skills. And never apologize for your skill as a cellist and violinist. I have a son that is one of those and I live in awe of his ability to make the notes sound good. Even when he shows me where and how to put my fingers and how to draw the bow, I get this gawd-awful grinding soung.

Then again, I'm a drummer. Have low expectations of me!

D&D is back. I have mixed feelings about it. Do be careful of who you team up with it can make it a very long 3 weeks.

Made my delivery to cosco. First time there has been a small snafu. Staged for my door and the truck in the door has a green light so I walk over and knock waking him up. But he is not empty. ??? I walk over to the check out area and ask them to check and see what is going on. 5 minutes later I am assigned a new door, handed a new pager and 20 minutes later I am headed for the gate. The other driver still in the door waiting. It pays to be professional and kindly ask questions.

Got a produce load from salinas to denver. Also got the message to call safety for I70 routing. What? Yep we have chains waiting in green river UT and sapp bros in commerce city. I hope that drivers and stevens pay real close attention to the weather as it gets nasty up there in a hurry. Not to mention the winds and snow in utah. Oh well. I will be prepared and make the decision before I commit to I70 In utah.

Amazing how much response one gets with a well written email. I did that with a DM that would pull the same stunts. Upper manegement has no idea what promises are made and then broken, unless we let them know.

Talking to a new trainer the other day. He was on his 3rd student in 8 weeks. He likes the money of doing repowers on i80 between chicago and nevada. Could care less about the students required needs. I told him his attidude was wrong. He stated he was only doing it for the money.

Good job, I knew you would do it first time. Shows your level of dedication and professionalism. How many left in the class now? I'll be starting my classes with Tri State on Monday.
