Housing is indeed the issue there. Bring a camper. Don't even think about bringing your family.

Big Duker and roadwiseinc Thank this.

We've been over there all summer and you are right housing is the issue. That's why one of our priorities was to get a "man camp" built and set over there. It's actually a nice set up and has everything right there.

Our guys have been running nonstop. Now that we have more housing, we are hoping to give them a day off. Our winter business in ID and WA is starting to pick up so we will be looking for a driver or two to work over in Spokane, WA as well. We have a great crew working for us and it will be nice to bring in some more and add to them.

Well, I for one am not moving up to N Dakota without my family somewhere close by. If they have to be an hour or 2 away, then so be it. I will eventually find us a place closer to where I am employed, and when I have time off, I won't have so far to go to be with them. I am bringing my family, and I will find work, and I will find housing - Guaranteed! :thumbright: Just look for my posts early next year, I don't care if there is 10 feet of snow, once I get the go ahead, I am getting up there one way or another. I look forward to the challenge...

I admire your attitude, but it would be foolish to not take into consideration the advice a lot of drivers here who work and have worked up there are offering up. That is going to be a challenging environment to work in just on the work side of things, I would think long and hard about compounding that challenge with non-work related issues at least until you have a chance to learn the lay of the land first hand. Either way best of luck to you, I hope it pans out exactly how you hope it will.

It never goes exactly as planned, but I can certainly expect to work, to have some time off, and to be able to spend that time off with my family. I guess I am a little hard-headed when it comes to what I want out of life, after all, the whole reason I am doing this is for my family's well being. We can survive anywhere on this planet, I have already proven that, so this move will be an easy decision. I am not a big fan of long distance relationships, and neither is my wife. What some people think is impossible is for others relatively easy, you just have to be ready to sacrifice certain things, and realize it's not all about the money, or what the money will buy - there are much more important things and my family and I are not willing to give those things up. Thanks for the well wishes.

We are still in the process of filling the positions. We are in the process of going through the resumes and interviewing.

I also have a buddy of mine that is hiring in the Tacoma/Seattle area. Since they haul out of the Port, you'll need to have a TIF card.

I live in the Spokane area and have several years of expirence driving on and off road. I do not, however, have any oil field experience. Are you still looking for drivers?

    roadwiseinc Thanks this.
