I've considered it, but I know someone who has done a number of them. Everyone who has done it has been pleased. The only thing that has held me back is my OPT warranty. I have all the big pieces, just need the little stuff.

Here is a list of needed parts I may forget one or two but I'll try my best to get it all.
    Exh manifold
    Turbo
    Turbo oil feed line
    Turbo oil drain tube
Block adapter (where drain tube goes in)
Block off plate for extra drain tube
    Cam
    Cam gear
    Cam position sensor and brk
    Engine wiring harness
    Under cover wiring harness
    ECM
    Valve mechanism base
    Outlet elbow for turbo
A charge air cooler pipe from turbo to charge air cooler
    Various plugs
I don't know what others have done but I reused the vva assembly's for the Jake and backed the vva's all the way off and is working fine for me.
I can tell you I put the 800 horse marine cam the pdi exhaust manifold and the Borg Warner c16 turbo with a c16 600 brakesaver file and this engine runs very well. It builds about 43 psi boost with the wastegate blocked and the pyro never goes over 1000.

I don't think just pulling off the twins and bolting on a single will work because it will not build enough boost to get the ECM to full fueling and if it did go to full fueling I think the egts would be high because of the vva's reducing the air charge in the cylinders combined with the lower boost of the single turbo. I am not saying it run but I think performance would be less than desirable.

yea i think im going to stay with the twin setup for now, haney has been the one im going to deal with just trying to get some input all around before i tear into it. the thing runs great with his ecm setup im just starting to get some issues with excessive blow by and oil usage. whoever owned this truck before me didnt take to good of care of it. no matter how much you check out a used truck you still wont see everthing thats wrong untill you run it for awhile, its just a crap shoot!

i have to agree with u on that one superhauler. i bought an o6 w900l. its got an 05 c15 550 acert. last week i was headed home from kansas city mo and i just come off 435 south to 70 east. i heard a strange noise in the motor...it sounded like a burble like when u get low on fuel...welllll it wasnt. just as i started to give it fuel to merge on to 70 something went BOOOOOOMMMM in the motor. it blew black smoke for a second and then started hammering. i pulled over and totally expected to see either a piston through the oil pan or a hole in the side of the block. luckily neither one was the case. got towed a few miles back to the shop and when they tore it apart they found a broken intake rocker arm. snapped the adjustment end off. they did an overhead and found EVERYONE of the intakes set way toooo tight!!!! i was planning on an overhead but it was goin to be a little later. so no matter how nice a used truck looks or runs always be on the look out for something to happen.
