I would start by doing a google search on TX and PA on "Energy Jobs" There was a thread by a company hiring in ND 2 days ago housing provided 16 an hr and no experience necessary all you gotta have is your CDL and endorsments I might be heading up there myself in march of 2012 all I need to get is my hazmat.
No School+ CDL = No companies willing to hire.

Well for northern PA look up Dirt Excavating, Cudd Energy Services, Nabors Well Services, Infinity, MOBO, Haliburton.
RAGE 18 Thanks this. -
I was willing to move to get a better job. I even told my current employer (Frito Lay) that I would move to on of the plants to drive for them but I was told that I can not drive for them until I get my 2/250,000 under my belt. My only issue with moving is that I will not be finished with school until December so I am stuck where I am at. -
There are a lot of oil field jobs in Midland, TX right now. My friend just took one. I can't remember the name right now.

There is more to truck driving than dropping trailers in dock doors. Or driving around a yard.
Over the road experience means the driver has the ability to hopefully get from point "A" to point "B" without killing anyone or tearing anything up, all within the legal regulations. -
But you nver left the yard right? That's not driving experience. That is backing experience.

I can agree with you on this where experience is needed for a driver to be successful while driving. My only issue is that I talked to a SNI recruiter and I was told that I need three months experience to qualify for a position, but the next day I go to work I get a SNI truck in who can not back into a dock by themselves. These just annoys me that someone like that is "qualified" but I am not. Also I can remember when I was driving and was transporting a execavator that was wider then the trailer was and having to fight New Orleans traffic just to get off the interstate.

Many companies will pre hire you before you enroll in a driving school, even if you already have a license and no experience. These companies make regular visits to the good driving schools. You apply before starting the school. Many of them pay for your tuition and then you join them right after school.
