Does anyone happen to have a souce or list of companies that offer a net-lease, whereby the company pays the o/o by the mile for their truck and the company pays for fuel, ect?

It's rely hard to search for the ready made list for your requirement , but you can easily gate the various result through the little search.

I have seen a couple of carriers advertise in one of the trucking magazines that said they pay fuel. If you want the carrier to pay the fuel and pay by the mile, why don't you just be a company driver? Fewer headaches and as much or more money as running by the mile.

But I agree - Why? I understand some of the lifestyle reasons why people stay with a company that pays mileage but why search out a mileage based company that pays actual fuel. They just pay a lower mileage rate. And from everything I have seen the mileage rates are already below the truckers poverty line. -
It has been a while but I seem to remember something about $0.58 plus fuel. That isn't much money when you consider that you will need to pay for your maintenance, truck payment, etc., out of that money. If I were to lease to a carrier I would look for one that pays percentage. There is a greater opportunity to make more money than running mileage. -
I was going to do a thread on my observations after talking to over 100 drivers in the past 6-weeks. Guys making less than $1.40/mile, hate the company, running 3000+ miles a week and taking less that $1500 a week before taxes. But can't get past not having set rate and/or believe they can make more driving less.
If you don't understand the business you are in don't get in it. So many of these guys can make more as a company driver and have more freedom. -
I pay drivers percentage. Most prefer it to mileage since they usually make much more than if they were paid by the mile. I have had a few who would have rather be paid mileage than percentage because they would more easily be able to figure how much they would make each week. Keep in mind that they are always told what the load pays before they take it. Some have made over $1/mile on some loads, but would prefer to make $0.30/mile and be paid mileage. Go figure. I think that I should experiment on paying some mileage. I have no doubt that I would be making more money and some of them would be happy as can be with their smaller paycheck. -
Thought about offering a mileage plan after talking to a couple of good guys that wanted mileage. But in the end it came down to an integrity thing with me. Every week when I approved the settlement report and saw how much I was making off of them I would feel like I was cheating them. Plus when ever a mileage guy got a direct load that paid well I would be concerned the percentage guys felt like they are being cheated. I really look at mileage pay as company drivers with no risk to the company.

I think that some owner operators and even some company drivers who work on percentage seem to think that the carrier is not being honest with them about the rate. At least that is the way it seems to me. I am always very open about what the load pays and drivers will usually be able to speak with the shipper or broker so there are no secrets. I have never attempted to hide what I make on a load. I have had some brokers and shippers who will not discuss the rate with the drivers. Perhaps it is all the uncertainty about the rates. Some of these people would rather run for a lower rate if they can be paid by the mile. I don't know of any carrier who will pay as high a rate on mileage as we do with percentage. I may try mileage at some point. Like you I feel that percentage is the most fair way to compensate drivers and owner operators.
