Since I bought this truck in 8/05 its had an inconsistent rough idle, it would idle so smooth you couldn't even tell it was running to shaking an empty seat.
Last week when I changed my fuel filters I poured the oldfilters into a coffee can and the 2nd filter had some brass looking shavings in the fuel so the next day I put a fuel pump on it and its idled so smoothly you can barely tell its running for 3 days now also pulls w/o any vibration at all. After changing all the fuel lines I had decided that it had to be the ECM.
I know that the fuel psi has been checked with a gauge or on the ECM at least a dozen times chasin a bad injector or a flutter with the last time being 6 weeks ago.
Im just so surprised that it was checked so many times w/o showing anything wrong but was the problem all along.
It looks like Aussie Dave hit the nail right on the head when I was complaining about it earlier.

Congrats on getting it fixed. I friggin hate when I put mine in the shop, and they cant figure out the problem. Eventually I end up figuring it out and fixing it myself. Id love to have all that wasted money back lol.

With as many times as a shop had a gauge on it I will never understand why they didn't figure it out.
