I could almost swear that about 80% of the t/s ive been to are really almost empty? Is it me or is csa starting to have an impact?

it might be but alot has to do with the economy. low freight volume and high fuel prices and operating cost. the fly by night trucks just cant afford to run anymore.

On Sunday, October 2, 2011 around 11 AM both the Pilot and the Petro near the Little Rock terminal for Maverick were very close to full of trucks. They were also that way around 9 PM on September 24, 2011.
So, it could also have something to do with the timing of when you are near the t/s. -
So, alot of trucking co's went under? I think I read something that said dry frieght down 10%.flatbed freight up 7% and reefer up by about 2%. So it amazes me how empty these truck stops really are....kind of weird you know? Its all over the western region. Dallas so far has been about the only place ive seen some activity, but kinda weird..Last edited: Oct 4, 2011

So, you think it could be the midwest is doing good freight wise?
-
Could just be you are traveling in a not so regular/popular zone right now.
-
Mid-west freight (north-south) generally stays at a more consistent level than the coasts.
-
Thats a really good point there, and I know that the midwest ALWAYS has freight. Ive been running pretty consistantly running 11 western and texas and still ive noticed alot less trucks on the roads and at truck stops. Its not like how it was before e-logs and csa? I can certainly see a huge difference lately, not even exadurating....

I just got back from Afghanistan and in Weatherford TX we have a Petro,Pilot, and independent . All are much slower than 15 months ago. You could pull in any time now and find them no more than 50-70% full if that much. Economy still sucks. Used to have to get in there by 6-7pm or it got pretty tight.
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
