Have a question on the front cover. Top right hand corner pretty sure it is the cam shaft cover. This leaks oil can I just remove and replace gasket or is something going to fall out or fall apart ?

Nothing should fall out. Use RTV and don't overtighten.

which one are you talking about? if it is the plate that is in the front cover that bolts to the head there are 2 seals and you must remove the valve cover and the front cam cap. There is also a small seal under the front cam cap. you need to be careful if you do this repair. you must remove the cam bolt that holds the gear on the cam shaft. also very important. mark the cam gear where it mets the drive gear. i use fingernail polish. and another tip stuff a rag under the gear to catch bolts. there are 3 bolts that hold the plate to the head and cam cap. when you put it back together, put the trans in gear and tighten the cam bolt to 55 lbft then turn it half a turn with an impact. very important!!! make sure the gear is in the same spot from which you removed it!!!!. oh and another note. under the cam cap is a small grove. put some rtv on it. and when installing the valve cover put rtv on the corners of the cam cap on front and rear to help seal the valve cover gasket.

RTV is only going to cause a problem later on. Oil and heat causes RTV to deteriate and the leak will appear again plus small bits of RTV will dislodge and cause greater problems than an oil leak! I found just thorough cleaning of the cover and other parts with carb cleaner or brake cleaner and installing the clean dry rubber gasket and tighten to specs. will work best. In my opinion RTV is like a tune up in a can! Its a waist of time and $$!

i only use the ultra grey rtv. holds up better. if it is the black valve cover gasket they seal good. only on the old grey gaskets do i use the rtv.
