I agree with outlaw1.....even if some of it is on their web site.....it's good to ask, so you get their lies both in writting, and verbally. Makes it much easier to come back here and *itch about how you got screwed.
Cover your ###, because they won't!!!!!!

As of today,10/5/2011, I have 3 confirmed orentitations. I am going to the first one next week. Better to see for my self, I think. Worst case is if the 1st company seems bad, I can go to the next company after the release is signed.
-
Mind telling us the two you have on hold?
Don't tell us the one you have decided to attend orientation with, because you have already made your decision.....and we will just trash you if it's a #### company. -
What better way is their for all of us to help each other. I believe attending as many orentitations as possible is the first step in evaluating a company. I personally can afford to do this. Each driver has a unique situation. CPM, hometime, driving area, ect. Based on what company this post is under, the company that is on hold should be very clear. Please see my post under Super Service for more info.

Just wondering...
Or paid by the post for them... -
Just trying to steer him in a better direction,
how are YOU assisting him ?? -
No, I saw that you posted several times & such talking about PTL... I was doing some research myself....By trying to find a company close to home...Sothern In. Western Ky.
-
WOW...What a change..I worked for PTL back in 1998 to 2004. And they were wonderful!!
-
I would agree with you. I have been working for PTL since Nov.1,2011..
No complaints thus far. As with all companies & jobs you get the same old' B & gripes. -
I would also like to say I am on a "Dedicated Load" form a company that is in the same city as where I am from... I haul just for them & them only.. I have pay stubs to back my pay up also..In the first 6 weeks of driving for them I grossed about $9000.00 Not bad to me. Now that Xmas is over I am grossing about 900.00 a week doing the dedicated load. Yes, I had some good home time during the holidays(a little more than I expected). But that was due to the New Years & inventory shut down. I am back to delivering to the stores. The stores recieve 3 days a week. But I usually deliver 1 round in that week. With my average mileage to the first stop is 1000-1100 miles..Plus the unload pay isn't bad for me. I have more than enough time to get there. I don't have to push myself to drive the whole 11 hours & such. I have a brand new 2012 truck after a month of being here. I had a 2007 truck that was wore out to me.
Yes, they do pay less on mileage if & when you cross the Mississppi river. But my miles are enough to compensate that.
The hotel, yes was a dump. But, like the guy in orientation said"The turnover in the trucking industry stands at 4.6 months for each driver out there." That means that with most companies get several drivers a year & has 1-2 oreientations a week. So, yes there are lots of abandoned trucks & yes they do pay drivers to go get them. I was talking to some drivers & they were getting paid $500 to ride a bus from Ky. to Kansas or Texas. Not bad to sit on your rear for a few days in a van to get a truck. Just remember what the guy also said"That PTL will pay you back for any & all cleaning supplies that you use to get that truck in the shape you want it in."
Sorry for any typos I may have made.
