Sorry I couldn't respond sooner, been too busy driving and making money!!! I'm going to keep this to myself E.T.Last thing the company wants is to be bombarded with all those phone calls, emails and letters from people looking for a job. As far as truck driving jobs go, this is right up there in the dream job category. My only complaint is the Volvo trucks, but I'm adjusting.

DTL transportation in sanford, fl. they are currently hiring ya know
Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
I worked for trans am for 8 months and finally got out. Let me tell all you people who are thinking of going to trans am a little bit about what you are getting yourself into. I will all start at oreintation with joe wilson in olathe he will tell you how they are the largest reefer controoled company and how you be so busy, its all a bunch of crap. Try picking up a load at one of the meat plants in dodge city or liberal kansas you will be sitting for days for load to be ready. then he will tell you how when you go iout with your trainer while your driving ,your trainer will be sitting observing you, and when your sleeping your trainer will be sleeping, all a bunch of crap.most of the trainers want to run team so they can be paid for your miles, also had to sleep in the top bunk while my trainer was driving, read the warning on that bunk, it states no to be used while tracker in motion.the when your trainings done you go back to test out,in olathe you get to hear douce bag ernie tell you how great the lease program is for the whole week your there. then you test out open book test and a road test thats a joke. Ask Thomas the head of training why they seperate the new guys coming in and the guys testing out why your put in different hotels, they give you some ######## answer truth is they dont want you talking to each other nor do they want you to talk to the drivers in the lounge ,they walk you off the premises for lunch so you cant hear they ######## from the driver who are struggling to make a living. bottom line is trans am gets a kick back from the govt for each student that goes thru there and if you quit before 3 months you have to reumbures the for the money they state cost them for your training, which is a joke, and they push the lease program up your ### so ernie the scum ball in olathe can get his 300.00 per lease which he will deny he gets .finally why do you think they bring in between 40 to 50 students per week in ,when they have no trucks for anyone that wants to be a company driver because thats how many drivers are quitting weekly, remember this that if they dont get you to lease a new truck and it sits in there yard they have to make the payment on it not the poor smuck who trying to make ends meet. you been warned thanks

I'm currently working with trans am and I haven't seen a check in 3 weeks I've been working for free does anyone know of a good lawyer against trans am? Know I should of had at least 800 each week but I didn't I'm sueing and getting a lawyer
-
Are you Lease/Operator, or Company? I hope not Lease. I hope you find a good lawyer!!
-
It takes money to get a lawyer. According to you, you've not been paid in 3wks. Good luck with that one.

Before you took this job with Johnnie and his boyfriend I hope you read a few "things" you needed to do before you put the key in the ignition? I also hope you followed some other advice about making copies of EVERY piece of paper that went through your fingers before you sent them in. No proof no pay and that's how that office works! I can't tell you how many BOLs scale tickets and toll receipts kept comitting sucide by jumping out of the trip pack before it made it in and then the packs that got lost! That's so funny as all the years I drove before TrashAm I had only ONE trip "disappear and that was because it was stuck to the back of another companies pack!
If you are still there and haven't said anything to dispatch or anyone else about quitting GO HOME FIRST!
Follow those directions I have posted about quitting that POS company! http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...vice/96189-what-do-when-quit-pos-company.html
Unload the truck at home. Keep enough to live off of until you can get to the yard. But follow those directions to the letter to cover your arse. Have enough money in your pocket to cover either bus, airline or car rental from the farthest point in America to home! TrashAm has been known to get you off the property when you quit or even in BFE so be prepared with money in the wallet or it's going to be a hard trip home!
Now, after you've done the bridge burning, before you hire on there are a few threads on what questions to ask during a PHONE interview that YOU do! Tell the out of work used car salesman called recruited that you will be interviewing THEM so as not to waste their money and your time going to a disaster called orientation! Some of them actually like that but a majority don't as they do not like to be questioned when they are like a call center, They read off a book in front of them and they have to go flipping pages/screens to stay caught up and try not to sound like an idiot!
ASK all those questions on the phone, NOT when you get there! If they get upset and start cutting them off then you KNOW you don't want to drive their trash down the road! -
I've been a company driver for them for a year now. They've been alright to me; miles have been kinda low, but the nice trucks almost make up for it.
Pay is alright (especially if you train like I do - and, yes, I made sure to start a later than some of the other coaches to make sure I had the proper experience), but could be better. Could also be worse, too. If you drive company, you may have to wait on a truck (typically, during the colder seasons, not so. I got mine right away after I tested out in November), and hometime could be a little nicer (they guarantee four days off [96 hrs] per month, and will give you all four days if you want, but you have to specially request it from your DM - the system will say you've requested off too much if you try to do it using the satellite).
Also, as mentioned, TA has good and bad dispatchers. I got one out of the Rockwall terminal, and he's really good about keeping me rolling, but I've heard that others don't work out as well. As for miles, I average 2500, but that number gets lower and lower every month: if you've got too many financial obligations (house payments, kids, etc), then TA probably isn't the company for you.
Also, I hate this. As a trainer, I do not run teams for that very reason. Running teams typically isn't good for brand new drivers fresh out of CDL school, and if I can't even sleep on either bunk while the truck is in motion, I'm not gonna make my student try. I see way too many trainers pushing team loads on their students, even in TA (mostly lease-ops looking to make an extra buck and make it through the week), which is wrong (unless the student is comfortable with it).
Remember this, all CDL graduates going to TA: if you're uncomfortable with running team loads, make it clear to your coach. If he/she attempts to force you into one, call the training coordinator: remember, even though you're in training, it's your ### if you get into an accident from fatigue, so don't put up with it if you don't think you can do it.Last edited: Oct 19, 2011
