Well I picked the truck up on Tuesday they got everything done. Rolled out at 1 AM Wednesday morning with a 10 stop load going to Illinois and Iowa. Made for one long ### day. Made six stops Wednesday finish the other four Thursday. Then headed to the Gary yard for a b service Friday. Testing a new oil for maverick
it is a 10w 30. Leaving out Sunday with a 12 stop load going to Missouri time for me to go buy cigarettes. Drive safe and enjoy joy the weekend.
PS. Came out with a 8.3 for the third quarter in fuel that's a five cent a mile bonus my best ever. -
I called down to Logan Aluminum and verified that I could get in there late and spend the night.

Why is it going to take that long? -
sewerman said: ↑I don't mind a little razing there, Sewerman. I started on flatbed back in 86. Mostly flatbed til 2000, when I climbed out of a truck for the last time. Tired of wife & kids growling about me never being home. Now, the wife don't care anymore & the kids are grown. And since I can't pay the bills on school bus & part-time liquor store pay, I am looking to get back truckin'. Maverick is the only company I have found that is willing to PAY ME while re-acclimating me to the trucking industry & lifestyle. From what I read here, Mav looks like a good place to be. I am looking at the TCD because I am terrified of heights, and never did like climbing those lumber & drywall loads. I'm sure it wouldn't take long to get back in the swing of slinging chains. Did it for TMC as a company driver & an O/O back in the 90's.BusDriver said: ↑So. Did you get on w/Maverick? How is that reefer division?
How is the reefer division cold I think LOL. If you can eat it I will not haul it. Real men pull flatbed. You live in a great area for the flatbed division. If you are lazy, old, or crippled I can understand wanting to pull a reefer. LOL just razzing you a little at one thing great about truck there's all different types of work and I'm glad there's people to do it all but if you're waiting on me for groceries we would all go hungry.Click to expand...Click to expand...JimTheHut Thanks this. -
Jim, supposedly there are no orientation openings until the first of November.
Don't have to go back through the barn, but do have to sit through orientation -
Logan will not have your load ready anyway....JimTheHut said: ↑I called down to Logan Aluminum and verified that I could get in there late and spend the night.Click to expand...

I have read this post from the beginning and let me tell you, its exhausting. LOL a lot to read. I'm going to get my CDL during the first quarter of 2012 and have been looking into maverick. I just want to say that everyone here has posted great information and I feel that Maverick is currently number 1 on my list. They seem to pay well and it seems to be the best company with a home time policy I have found so far.
Just a couple questions(can't remember if I read the answer LOL). And i would like to say thanks in advance for all of your input. What is Maverick's tarp pay if any, and do they pay anything per load delivered? The reason I ask these questions, I really wanna make a career change as I am tired of working in the oil field in the gulf of Mexico and trying to compare pay possibilities.
