Hello Trucking Community!
As the daughter of a veteran, and a proud American, my Dad always told me that truckers were the knights of the road, and will always help a fellow citizen in need.
Well, I have a question for the board. We are trying to transport a very friendly, very trained, special dog all the way across the country. Here is the back story....
Jack is a family dog`, raised in a home with 6 kids. He was found nextto a dumpster in San Bernardino as a tiny puppy, and the Kids took him in as a member of the tribe. Sad fast forward.....His parents divorced, and the kids moved to a community with a no dog policy. Jack was with his mom, and saw his kid family on the weekends, when she was attacked assaulted and robbed on August 14th.( can all be backed up with police reports) Jack hasnt been able to get the exercise and care he needs while his mom recovers. he is a breed that is almost impossible to adopt... but... She found a great home for him, where he can be reuinited with his original family after things get settled...it is in Boston. We are trying to get the dog to at least NYC for pickup. Please let us know if you can help out a family, and stop a dog from the unknown. Jack is friendly, fixed, trained and has loved the car( no puking!) since he was little. Please see what you can do, it would be the miracle of the year!

Google "Operation Roger". They are a non-profit organization that uses volunteer truckers that are part of their network to do just what you are looking to do with Jack.
bullhaulerswife, crazy4chrome and xoxoelle Thank this. -
Thank you for the head up! I have started the application process with them already. they give preference to animal rescues and shelters ( understandably so) and it will be a while before they look at everything. I am trying everything I can for this animal, time is tight and so please keep this thread alive and if anyone sees fit to help you would be so appreciated.
Thanks again Trucker world! -
You can also fly him as cargo, not sure how expensive.
xoxoelle Thanks this. -
unfortunately I cant bring myself to do that again. taking a family dog on a 3 week vacation to Michigan proved fatal on a well known airline...the dog didnt make it. its a small chance, but i couldnt handle that happening again.especially when it costs about 600 bucks said and done.
Thank you Allow me, everyone here is super helpful. -
It looks like you need to find the right person, the right place, the right time. That is a tough one.I wish I could help,as many would if they could.
Do not give up..animals are people too.
Just a thought..have you tried a slideshow on utube? -
I would help, but I am currently looking for a job. Also, I will pray. God listens & I know the lord cares. I was driving one day & saw a baby pig on the side of the road just standing there. Pulled the truck aside and a car did too, but then another trucker from the same co. blocked the lane with his truck . I would of kissed him, bless his heart. what a man!

I'm wlling to transport Jack, but here's the thing... I do all 48 states... I'm not on a regular route... I DO get to CA and NY/East Coast quite often... I just can't PROMISE a delivery date.... if you're willing to accept an indeterminate schedule, I don't have a problem giving the little guy a ride.
